i spent all bow season chasing elk for my dad and brother.
then spent all rifle season chasing elk for Jessy and Erin.
with my seasons over here at home i went to sundance and hunted the black hills.
my brother a big white tail fan calls muley's carp so i call his favorite deer flag its.
today i shot a 5x6 flag it.
i didn't get any feild photos but i'll get some in the back yard tomarrow.
i was not thinking when i left. i had all my hunting gear but forgot to pack a few things, camera, socks, undies, pants, shirts,no sent spray, scent loc suit.
pritty much got there with a gun bullits knife and binos. for a three day hunt.

here is some pictures of the flag it

would have rather shot a muley just didn't have time left to shop.
i thought he was bigger than my 02 white tail but he is not so i caped him and gave the cape to my taxadermist.i'll clean it up for a euro mount or a plack.
man i wish i'd have found a 180" muley but never saw one all year.
i'd been happy if it was a 150 whitetail but he looks to be somewhere in the 130's maybe low 140's if he hadn't broke that g-4. i didn't see the broken tine befor the shot.

yes they are i just don't see how corey thinks they are so much harder to hunt. i put a easy 90 miles on my legs during bow season and never saw a muley buck over 150" and scouted all summer muddys deer are in sad shape. there are some nice bucks taken this year but the over all population is so far down i wish they would make it a limited quota area.
the white tail hunt i was there two days and could have shot two white tails bigger then any muleys i saw in 18 days of hunting at home.
finding a 160" muley is compairable to a 140" white tail.
i was hopeing to find a 170 gross muley or a 180" nt muley or a 150" whitetail. i guess i'm done hunting deer but i still have to get the girls some elk.
jessy has a bull tag and erin has a cow tag but they work all the time when i'm off. its hard to get in sink.

that's not a wa. whitie by chance???? nice buck! since i didn't score on my muley hunt i'll be chashing those bastards up in ferry county here in a couple weeks! nice buck!

Triple_Shock... I'll be hunting late archery out of Republic starting on the 15th 0r 16th of this month. The forecast calls for light snow!!! Cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-07-06 AT 05:22PM (MST)[p]i'm glad to get this buck just don't tell my little brother.he always gives me chit for being a muley addict. hate to have him think i had to work for this one.white tails are a lazy mans deer, you can't get them by covering ungodly amounts of tarratory like muleys you must move at a snails pace and cover small areas well. the more often you stop and stay in one place the more you will see.
muley's you cover every inch of large tarratory's on foot and with a spotting scope. the work on muleys is finding a good buck within 50 miles. white tails its finding that one buck in a couple miles. i think there are alot more good white tail bucks in the areas than good muley bucks in a area 20 times that size.
when i shot the 02 buck i went up there for a three day hunt and killed it after one hour of hunting, this time it was one day and two hours. both years i hunted muley's 18 to 20 days and never found anything above average not even a sighting.
i saw one shooter the first day too he was at least this big but was 50 yrds off the forest on the old homesteak land.
