Thanks for posting the pics.

This will be a short story. Opening morning the sun was just starting to come out. About 6:50 AM we spotted a nice buck going over a hill in front of us. Then saw another nice buck about 250 yards to my left. I couldn't tell how big his fronts were so I decided to pass and chase the 1st buck I saw.I started around the top when I saw 2 small bucks below me about 60 yards out. They were both looking over their shoulder at something then the guy I was with said holy Ship look behind you. I turned around and there was this guy about 120 yards making his way up the hill. It only took 1 look to know he was a shooter for me. He was just getting ready to take off so I took a quick shot with the 280. He ran about 20 feet, pilled up, and checked out. 7:20 AM hunt over!!!!!! Time for some breakfast.

Easy mid to high 180's. May push 190 with that tine length.

Great looking buck! I'd guess him to be 27" wide and maybe gross around 186" or so?

I'd rather be lucky than good. Nothing like taking a great buck first thing opening morning!

26-27" wide, 184 gross. Nice buck and sounds like there were a few around.

Many of you were close. I roughed him at 175. Then I learned that I don't know what I am doing. The taxidermist roughed him at 181. He won't go book, but who cares. He was everything I wanted an more. I have been hunting 14 years for this chance. Hopefully I can keep the momentum going, but I have a great memory just the same.

Next year starts the real memories. I am planning on taking my daughter on her 1st doe hunt. That will be my best trophy yet.
