how wide would you say this guy is. keep in mind he isn't looking exactly straight on. he's got big ears if you ask me. hopefully he doesn't break any of those cheaters off!

I would say 27-28 on the mainframe and 30-31 on the cheaters. My thought is that his ears look big because he doesn't look to be an older deer. Older big bodied bucks will have a bigger neck, a blockier body. Those characteristics make their ears look smaller and their eyes will look smaller, even though in reality they are as big or bigger than a younger lighter buck. He doesn't look that heavy, so I am guessing he is a younger deer just coming on. Also his antlers are not that weighty and haven't gained the mass yet.

Great deer any way you slice it.

That does not look like a young deer to me. Look at how white his face is. That is a sign of age to me and his body is not small.

I would agree with that. Looking at ear width to inside main beams.

Also an older buck is barrel chested and it makes their hindquarters appear small. This buck has hind quarters that look big compared to his chest.

He's about BOOM BOOM BOOM wide and will score BOOM BOOM inches.

(Of course, the first shot killed him, the other 4 were just to celebrate)

Looks like an older buck to me with the big chest and white face. Certainly not going downhill but I'll bet that he is in his mature prime.

I can't see the cheater to cheater spread any less than 33". Give the ears 24" (last big buck I killed had 26" ear tip spread) and the drivers side alone is 4-6" past the ears. Main frame maybe 28-29".

Helluva buck.
