Loved this site, since I found it about 6 months ago. Figured I'd wait until I had some pics to post to get started. Colorado 2nd rifle helped me with that...Story to follow.

Nice bucks, and welcome to MM. Looks like it was a bit of a cold hunt. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to hear the story.

Welcome to MM and thanks for posting. I love to hunt in the snow like you were lucky enough to unfortuantely this weekend opening in Nebraska calls for 60 degrees and sunny. Nice bucks looking forward to the story.

RE: First Pics and Post (Story)

Simply put, Both Kirk (the big goon in the 2nd set of pics) and I are Pennsylvania boys that love the timber. We've been hunting Colorado the past few years for both muleys and elk. Both bucks were shot on Public Land, no quads, no guides. We have found that a lot of our late season mountain whitetail techniques are really paying dividends in CO. We knew of some good ones in the area...We tracked both these bucks in the morning into there beds, played the wind, and the rest was history. Kirk shot his at about 25 yds jumping out of his bed at 9:30am. Mine was next morning (9:05am), same technique )gotta love that fresh snow), but my first shot was awful as he was getting up...notice the bullet hole through right ear in top pic. Only had a neck shot and skimmed the neck and next thing you know I have a place for my tag in the ear. I know from my experience with whiteys, that if you dont get them the first time you go into the bedroom, you might as well forget about it, so I had to take that first shot. First shot was through the thick timber at about 35..He gave me a second, fortunely. Look forward for some feedback and I'll try to post a better pic of that 2nd buck. Good Luck and Good Hunting!!
