Got him yesterday on the last day of third season in CO. Weighed 255 field dressed.......Man Am I stoked.....Anyone got any suggestions on a taxidermist in the colorado springs or pueblo area?

WTG. Very nice buck.
If you have time go to there shops and look at there stuff. There has to be someone on here with suggestions. Make sure they are established in the area for years though. Had a guy in my area that started taxidermy and got alot of work then stole deposits and hides heads and everything else.

Congratulations on a fine buck! My recommendation is to not cut corners on your taxidermy. Research and find a taxidermist who does "Quality" work and pay him what he asks. I know so many guys who try to save a buck on their taxidermy but will spend thousands on top of the line equipment, optics, firearms, gear, vehicles, hunts, etc. only to try to save $75 - $150 on the diffence between a quality mount and a hack job. Good luck and down the line post a picture of your mount!

I definately agree with ya on that. Dont want something I 'm gonna look at everyday to be a hack job. Took me four years and passing on several smaller bucks to get him, thanks for the comments and advice

Thats a nice Muley considering its your first ... I think my first was a small two point when I was 16.

Nice buck! there is a guy in the denver area who has done a bunch of work for my friends and I. He has always done a great job, if you are interested I'll put you in touch with him. 970-384-8838

Stuart Vslentine in Purblo does good work, give him a shout. If nothing else, go by his shop, he has some tremendous animals in there...

LAST EDITED ON Nov-13-06 AT 02:05AM (MST)[p]Thanks for the help everyone, I found a taxidermist and dropped him off now I just have to wait till june....had to ask what he'd score ........guy did a little measureing and said somewhere between 150 and 160 now I'm really floored......Been hunting whitetails since i was 10 and never got a really good one. Just goes to show that everybody gets lucky ever once in a while. Bad thing is that where I got him there will be a subdivison next year.. Once again thanks everyone for the help and congratulatins

Do you have any other closer pics? That buck looks to score better than a 150-160. Some front and side pics of it.
very nice shooter.

looks about 160ish to me. . .

Congratulations! Great job. Nice clean typica buck, cant beat that!

Score sounds about right. Very nice first buck, real symetrical too. My sister lives in "The Springs" lots of sub-divisions going in all over in that rolling sage. You'll have a great start to the trophy room.

Congratulations on a fine Buck. He will make a great mount for you to enjoy with his nice rack. Enjoy

Congratulations on a fine buck. Looks like some nice open country as well. Thanks for posting em' up for us.
