How good is this Bull?

345"

For GAWDS Sakes Guys,We Got Kids on this Site,Some of them are 65 years Old!:D

I don't care if they're big or small!
If they throw lead I like em all!
:p

Yep, tough bull to score. Really good fronts with great character. Not very good swords or G5s. Very good main beams and exceptional width measures. Not a ton of mass but not bad.
I would say 345 to 350. I think he is a young bull and has some exceptional potential if he is.

Pretty neat bull with character and would be tough to pass.

+1 Great bull with a very balanced frame. Great g1, g2 Hes a smoker for sure. I'll tell you from my opinion though, he's not a heavy bull. Young maybe 5 or so year old. Those circumferences really add to the score overall. In a year or two he might get into the 360s. Great Video.

Looks like everybody pretty much agrees. I thought 340 when he first walked in, but the more I looked him over the better he looked. I would call him a 350 class bull and hard to pass.

I think he's 365 right now and has more growing to do. Those thirds are over 20 maybe 21" !!! My bull from last year has a front end exactly like that with nothing on top and it's 350.

AZ's hot dry weather this year sure seems to be good for growing those monster radiator pipes :)

Cheers,
Pete

Hello fin little,
If I see him in my unit on Oct 21st, , , , I'll let you know what he scores!
Seriously, thanks for the cool video. I don't have the ability to "score on the hoof" like some on here but he definetly has the "WOW" factor and I wouldn't hesitate to shoot him last day, , , or first!
We were also up north last weekend just learning the roads and checking tanks for my son's 6A archery tag and we saw six bulls running together. Two of them were that big or maybe a little bigger. Sure got us fired up!
Sorry guys! I don't own a video camera and they were too far away for the cell phone.
Dang it! I thought I was getting too old to get this excited about the coming hunts, guess not!

Good luck to all!

Ok, I watched the entire video and, not just the clip. I think this bull will score a bit higher than estimated here. Walking away I think everyone here nailed it. However, if you get to look at the front end, head on it gives another perspective. I have seen a few bulls over the years. This bull has an unusually big front end. I will reserve my guess for when he gets cleaned up. I agree mass is a huge factor and this does appear to be a bull that could use one or two more years under him. He?s no 400 but I think he will easily bust 350? An extra 4 or 5 inches in a couple of places adds up quick.
Where?s Billy the Kid? I would like his take on this one.

I think he has nice main beams and brow tines which are way cool they curve out but he is really weak on his 4ths and 5ths and lack of mass I say 335

BANG!!!

Government doesn't fix anything and has spent trillions proving it!!!
Let's face it...After Monday and Tuesday, even the calender says WTF!

LAST EDITED ON Jul-27-11 AT 03:09PM (MST)[p]conch,

my take on him is 360-365. he is a young bull with awesome genetics. those out-turned brow tines really make him awesome looking. he also flares out pretty good on his beam adding to a greater than 40" spread which will compensate for his below average-average mass. here's one for you conch. you more than likely saw him at or near "your favorite haunt," lol, at least that's where he's been hangin'

i suggest go after his older brother. much bigger this year. there are some smokers there for sure this yr. i think it's the best year since 2005, yes 2005. how has your scouting been going? he is a dang nice bull and you play what cards you're dealt. however, there are A LOT more bigger bulls this yr. running around. only time will tell how the rut/hunt goes.

btw, i would have spared my bull for you but i don't think he would have made it another four years... there are more runnin' around this year. good luck.

Thanks Billy the Kid. I wanted to push him out to be a 370 class bull. This guy would be hard to pass. It would all depend on all the factors that play in. I'll be going back soon. Maybe I'll bump into you.

Quit Stretchin em Pete!:D

Sweet!!! Please post up some pics if you get a chance. I love seeing them in the velvet and hard horned for comparision.

Cheers,

Which one? The bull way down the page with the mud on its horns?

"You skin grizz?"

that would be him. the bull with mud on his horns.

hey conch, how did your hunt go? was there for a week and then headed off to the henries the last three days. it seemed rather slow and sporadic...

IMO, if you have to ask, he's not good enough for you. When you find the right bull you won't have to ask that question irregardless of score. Good luck Fin!

It's always an adventure!!!

Mr. Billy the Kid,
I did not take a bull. Wow! Who would of thunk it? Your analogy of playing the cards your dealt was spot on. There were many mitigating factors in my failure to score a bull. However; for the first time in my life I was on a world class unit with a tag in hand for fourteen days. I was with family and looking back I have to think this may have been better than scoring a bull. How many times in ones life are you going to spend that amount of time with the most important people in your life, doing what you love to do.

I now have a lot more respect for the 382" bull that I took last time I had the tag. I always thought it was a duck shoot. I guess I got an education. I could have taken smaller 300 inch class bulls, but I was there for something special.

My brother had a crack at a bull that I think was pushing the 400" mark. He hit a limb just prior to connecting and, well the rest is history.

I was into good bulls every day and saw some monsters. The rut was slow and I couldn't get into my comfort zone of sixty yards or less.

I met some great Arizona people and became a proficient user of my Rhino GPS. After a ten mile hike to the Grand Canyon highway I decided to pack and use the equipment I had. If nothing else I had a great training session on the GPS.

Overall I have no complaints and only wished I was young enough to have one more of these tags left in me. I fear that is not the case. Anyway, great hunt, no kill, super memories. Isn't that what it's all about?

Billy,
I forgot to mention. I had mule deer and antelope screw up more than one stalk. A 190 plus muley buck caught me off gaurd. He was calm and gave me all day to size him up. I live in super deer country and have not seen a buck of that calibur for at least two years. Hum...

A rifle and a tag allowing I could of had a trouphy elk, deer and antelope all in the same acre. Fun times...

conch, you hit it spot on. that's what hunting is all about. sounds like you magnified the tag 10x over again. i would have rather eaten tag soup and had you experience that shoot that bull and go home. glad you had a grand time. the rut was slow and unpredictable, albeit there were some great bulls running around that are more than likely still running, lol.....
