Couple Okanogan bucks

I was out yesterday and the muley hunting was pretty slow with the blue bird skies. I decided to try some rattling, but figured its noon and gorgeous out. The first attempt yeilded the smaller whitie which practically landed on me within 3 minutes. I didn't even have my camera turned on yet. He snorted and spooked when the camera fired up. He was at about 15 feet. I slammed the antlers together again and he stopped, turned and came back about 20 feet. I took the pic. The next rattling session, yeilded the big whitie. He was awesome. If I would have ha a late season permit, I might have had to think about tagging him instead of a mulie. Another buck came in behind me but I couldn't turn, I had this guy at 10 yards right in frot of me. I never saw what size he was. It was kind of interesting being between two bucks. The other was a nice three point mulie. I saw one big four, but he slipped away without me getting his photo.

Bone those are some great pics. That nice whitey is pretty impressive. I never have seen a nice whitey during the season though. Thanks for sharing!
WACAT

And yes that is WA state.

There are some awesome whitey in the methow thats for sure, I have seen 4 over the last couple years, that I wish I had my rifle for, but it was bow season and they were high tailing it outta there. Man you take some great pictures we are really fortunate to have you on here, it keeps the off season interesting. Thanks

Great photos! I'll take a guess and say about 155. I have one that went 156. He had longer main beams but his tines were a shade shorter than this one.

I guess he does have semi-short mains...fairly compact rack. At first I thought a lot higher, but I think you're right Mike....I still have to give him 158 min!

What do you think PB/Eric?

Thanks all! I'm guessing 155-160. He is VERY even except for his eyeguards. I was happy to see him. I went out again, this time to Republic and saw some dandy bucks, but didn't get crap for photos because of the fog. I rattled in 8 whitetails, two of which were trophies, and one of which was a buck of a lifetime, even though he wouldn't score reall well. He was very tall and wide with his antlers going Up and out steep angle. He had extreme mass, about 7 inch bases and heavy through out, but tine length was little with only 6 inch catus tines on top. It was just too dark and foggy for photos. I then saw probably the largest I have ever seen up there in the muley class. He was 35 inches and very heavy and just plain giant. I spent 30 plus minutes within 35 yards of him, but never got a good picture because of the fog. WHAT AN AWESOME animal! There isn't one guy on here that would have thought otherwise. All I can do now is wait for shed season. I just hope he doesn't get poached. I only got a couple pics from that day, so will see if I can get some of them on here as soon as time permits.
Thanks again!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-23-06 AT 09:26AM (MST)[p]One helluva buck! I would say 153-156. I cant seem to squeeze 160 out of him. I could be wrong and usually am. Georgeous buck!

Great pictures boneaddict!

Just thought I would add some pics of my own. I spent the last two weeks bowhunting near Republic. I didn't get a buck, but I managed to get a few pics of some that got away.
