This great buck was killed by Paul Rich from SLC during the 1955 season. The buck has never been taped. Paul harvested a nice Antelope with us this year & was kind enough to share this photo.

Justin,

Talk about a dream buck !!! Tell Paul we're jealous next time you see him.

Thanks for sharing,

I'll bet there are tons. My Dad was telling me a story about a great buck he harvested back in the 60's. He said it was 36 inches wide and enormous. Dad was young, didn't have a place to hang it , so he gave it to a superintendant he worked for. (antlers didn't seem to have the importance back then) The guy mounted it, and I'm guessing it might be on the wall of a relative or somewhere today.

My grandfather has a 32" 9x12 hangin in his basement. Never been scored, nor for that matter seen (by that many).

Right now its a hat rack, but when I get ahold of it it will be on prominent display.

The story on the buck is great one. He told me that he and his hunting buddy went down a draw (on horses) later in the evening, scared the monster out and never got a shot. Chances are pretty good even if they had gotten a shot in the evening, they wouldn't have hit anything (remember these were the old days, flasks were mandatory on the horseback trips). They went back the next morning, scared it out again, and never got a shot. Finally, the next morning they decided to take a different approach and one took his horse around the backside of the draw and waited for the buck where he could shoot as it was taking the escape route. It worked.

When I finally get possession of the mount, I will post a photo of it on here. Could take a while.
