"Said there were guys with radios posted on every ridge-top and they even had some of the roads blocked with their trucks so no one else could get past. I realize this isn't illegal by definition"

It may not be illegal in UT to block roads, but I know for certain it can be considered illegal in AZ and CO I believe. Blocking the road with a vehicle could fall under the definition of hunter harrassment. I'd just go around it, or better yet, pull it out of the way.

Yes, it is all BS.

It's Bush's fault!!!

THERE WILL BE SEVERAL TARDS JUMP ON THIS ONE & SAY YOU'D BETTER CALL THE AUTHORITIES & TURN THEM IN!!!

WRONG!!!

VERY WRONG!!!

I'M NOT WAITING FOR THE USFS TO DO SOMETHING,I ONLY HAVE ONE PERMIT & ONE LIFETIME!!!

TWO YEARS AGO I HAD TO MOVE A GUIDES TRUCK TO GET BY & AROUND HIS PARKED TRUCK!!!

FOUND THE KEYS,MOVED IT,GOT AROUND HIM AND PARKED IT FOR HIM!!!

I WASN'T REAL MAD CUZZ I FOUND HIS KEYS!!!

EVEN GUIDES DON'T OWN THE MOUNTAIN & I WILL BE THE FIRST TO TELL EM SO!!!

AS FAR AS PARTY HUNTIN GOES IT WAS BORN & BRED INTO ALOT OF THESE TARDS!!!

I SEEN IT HAPPEN THIS YEAR BUT THE DWR WAS SO SWAMPED WITH MORE SERIOUS CRIMES NOTHING CAME OF IT!!!

MY BOY ALSO SEEN WHERE A DEER HAD BEEN GUTTED,THE GUTPILE THE SIZE OF A VERY SMALL FAWN,SMALL ENOUGH THEY SLAPPED IT OVER THEIR SHOULDERS & PACKED IT OUT,NO DRAG MARKS IN THE SNOW!!!

THERE HAS BEEN MORE FRICKEN LOCAL POACHING THAN YOU CAN BELIEVE AROUND HERE!!!

THE ONLY GOOD THING IS A BUNCH OF THEM ARE GETTING CAUGHT!!!

THE ONLY bobcat KNOWING FOR A FACT,THE L.E. UNIT PERMIT HOLDERS TAKE ALOT OF FRIENDS WITH THEM THATS FOR DAMN SURE!!!

That's because the average hunter doesn't get off his butt and hike. I am sorry that you feel you can't compete with "big money" hunters but that's a sorry excuse...in fact it's pretty sad. There are a lot of "above average hunters" that would disagree with that statement. I don't party hunt so I am not defending myself but I am friends with people that use that tactic on occasion. It really doesn't bother me.

Your average big money guy doesn't like the strenuous hunting. Granted there are some that will get out there and hike but for the most part they are out of shape and have a real hard time getting into the back country.

Get off your Foreman and you will see a lot less of that.

It's always an adventure!!!

Nothing like posting a story on the world wide web thats 2nd or 3rd hand information and starts with the word "apparently".

Your friend should have called the game wardens and written down plate numbers and let them do their jobs.

Actually using radios to tell the location of game animals to a Hunter is illegal in Utah, not to mention against B&C's rules.

:( Somebody didn't like bouncing betty :(

Tony MAKES A GOOD POINT BUT!!!

HOW DO WE ENFORCE THESE TARDS???

THE ONLY bobcat THAT LIKED BOUNCING BETTY!!!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-20-06 AT 06:45PM (MST)[p]Using radios for guiding hunters or aiding in the hunt is illegal in Colorado also. I have been told by a game warden that it is punishable by up to $2,000.00 fine. I have read at least four threads lately where guys have admitted using a radio to call someone else in their party and telling them the animals were coming their way, to get ready", or telling them where to move to. This is not the way to hunt!

If it makes them feel good inside to use that many guys to go after a buck or two and cant do it with less, than whatever thats lame, but unless someone is there to bust em then theres not much you can do. it takes away from other people gettin a good buck who actually go scout and put the extra effort in when in the end they gat screwzord!!

I have a fun solution to people that park their truck like that! When I was in highschool, If we parked in the wrong area, we would have gotten barrelled. That means They would chain a 50 gallon drum to the front of our vehicle. Your choice filled or empty!! Make that SOB drive backwards down the mountain!!

Mr Clyde That's a good idea!! Lots of empty 55 drums and chain laying around out here in the oil patch.

Can someone tell me where it mentions in the proclamation that it is illegal to use radios for locating game in Utah? Thanks.

"Can someone tell me where it mentions in the proclamation that it is illegal to use radios for locating game in Utah? Thanks."

If the Utah proclamation is anything like those in other states, such as CO, AZ, WY, it is far from a complete list of hunting laws. Just because it is not listed in there, does not mean it is not a law. These regulation books only summarize most of the basic laws. You'd be wise to do a search of Utah G&F laws and look it up that way. Double check somewhere on the cover of your proclamation, or first couple of pages, and chances are it will say that the document is not a legal document, nor does it contain all hunting laws.

sremim, the proclamation from my understanding is supposed to have all the general laws in it.I would think that using a radio to retreive game would be under the aiding section and I can not find anywhere in the Utah proclamation stating it is against the law to do this.I know it is the hunters responsibility to know all the laws, but how can you get in trouble for this if it doesn't state in the proclamation that it is against the law to do this?I can't find this anywhere in the Nevada proc either. You might be right, but I am a little uncertain on this.I know a guy who is a warden and I am going to ask him about this.If this party hunting is illegal and getting to be a big deal, maybe they should start putting it in the proclamation so everybody knows it is against the law.
