#2, Bull missed at tank, what's he score

Wow, the arrow went just over his back. Question, why wasn?t the shot taken when his head was down and he was drinking? Not set up right yet or something? How many yards was the shot taken? Bull looks 340 to me. Nice bull! sorry about the miss, that's archery for ya. If he made it, hope you can get another crack at him this year.

Great looking bull? Did he leave much of a blood trail? Looks like a flesh wound to me. Hopefully you get another chance at him this year! Oh yeah, 340+.

It wasnt I that shot at this bull. Bull was at 18 yards, arrow flew right over his back. Not sure why the shot wasnt taken while drinking, but that's archery for ya.

PS-No animals were harmed in the filming of this video, lol......

Wow what a tough break. Very nice looking bull I'd guess him around 350. Don't take this the wrong way I'm not trying to be a jerk but it looks like the bull was hit by the arrow. I watched it over and over about 20 times and it looks like I see dust coming of the top of the bulls back. It also sounds like the bull was hit as well. Doesn't matter either way I guess. Nice video thanks for sharing!

Looked like a bit of hair was trimmed off his withers to me too. Hopefully the one that I miss in a few weeks isn't as big as this bull :)

PW,
First of all, you won't miss!
What are you holding out for?

Back to the show,
My guess would be a bit conservative. Maybe around 320-330". We may never know if you don't get him.

FYI: Bulls are TOUGH. My second daughter shot a 325" class bull and it had 3 pieces of an arrow in it, complete with broadhead. This was completely healed into the bull. Interesting stuff to me.

It always cracks me up with all the questions about which broadhead to shoot when they should be asking WHERE should I shoot the broadhead to kill an elk.

OK I'll get off my soapbox.

The lower portion of that rack was great, awesome 3rds. But ide have to agree with most here, that he would go at 340. I dont think much more then that. I wouldnt pass on him though. Thats a sweet clip though, that bugle gave me chills.

Zeke,
I agree 110% with your "broadhead vs shot placement" comment. There are a bunch of great broadheads out there along with some dandy marketing. And ANY of them will kill ANY animal with the right shot placement and the right penetration. I'm actually planning to use a really sharp stick and just make sure I get him right through the boiler room :) I've never shot a elk with my bow so I'm pretty stoked about it and hoping I can do it during the archery.

As far as what I'm holding out for....

The long answer is, If I only had the archery tag I'd be tempted to shoot a big 5 point thats been a regular at the camera. He's a dandy and would look impressive even on the wall next to my wife's bull. But with that premium tag I better leave my arrows home the first few weeks of sitting in that stand so I don't do something that I may regret later when the rut starts up.

The short answer... I just want a mature heavy bull. If that turns out to be a 300 or a 380 I'll know when I see him and hope its during the archery hunt and that the last 7 months of daily flipping arrows will pay off and I don't shoot him right in the butt. :)

That video is nice. I only wish the guy would have got him and showed me that bull up close. Thats a nice bull in my book regardless of the score!
