New to Muzzleloading, which do you think is better the Pyrodex pellets or black powder???
-Thanks Much

I always use loose powder since it is cheaper and you can tweak a load (add or take away 5 grains). Black powder is the more fouling and more corrosive of the two.

Most people getting into muzzy hunting today at least try the newer propellents. They are easier to clean and less corrosive that either black or pyrodex. You may want to at least give 777 a try. If you do, use the new 777 primers to get a more consitent ignition and less fouling.

I have great results with 777 out of my omega.

Give American pioneer powder a try. I used the sticks this year and really liked them. I burns a lot hotter than any of the other pre-formed charges I have used.
