I agree way to hot. Big bulls are tucking themselves in and not coming out. Although i see the weather is dropping down into the 70's. Im headin up on thursday evening for the remainder of the hunt.

Not me... couple close calls, but the bulls were either to small or in the thickest crap imaginable.

It's tough when they are only out for an hour after daylight, and a half hour before dark. Once it cools off and they get vocal should make things a little easier on us.

NOt one here yet either. We had a close call but fever few elk sighting so far. All the dang rain sure makes the water holes useless. Heading out for 14 of the last 16 starting Friday night. Here's to my wife getting one before I kill her on the hill. Good luck to the rest of you also.

Well, take this for what its worth, because it is a little bit of hearsay. I was up there by Strawberry on Saturday and I saw the fish and game were stationed checking people. I didn't talk to them but I talked to another guy who said he had talked to them and they didn't have confirmation of any LE archery bulls being taken. (don't think to ask about spikes)

the DNR officers as of yesterday knew of no filled LE tags up here........I have heard of one he said, she said, my brother in laws friends uncle killed a bull on opening morning other than that, nothing. Like I said b4 its gonna be an awfully tough year on the archers, the bulls that will be killed should be a bit bigger than average from the last few years, but look for success rates to drop a fair bit as well......

They seem to be in the same pattern and places as last year. They were on and off bugling til the end of the bow hunt last year. Some mornings and evenings would be dead quiet. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Good luck to everyone.

I cant wait for the next 2 and a half weeks to go by so I can hopefully get some redemption. I just haven't found anything with the wow factor...yet. I am counting on the sept 5th prediction.

Same as always. Still hot in August. Cools off a bit into September and the last 10 days things always get better. Hang in there and save your hard hunting for the last 10 days!

Looking at weather suppposed to cool off and by monday and tuesady down to straight 80's with storms and no sun. Im heading out tomorrow night and will be there the remainder of the hunt. Should be a good time. Im counting on finding ole blackie. Got the darkest antlers i ever seen. Good luck boys hope to meet some of ya.

Good luck Sniper1- We'll be waiting for your pics...!!

There will be lots of pressure in the old Wasatch this weekend. Last weekend was bad but this weekend will be even tougher because of the pressure on the mountain. The word "zoo" comes to mind. LOL

When the holiday is over, the weather cools, the bulls bugle etc, it will be a bit better but I have to agree with berryblaster. Seems like every prediction has come true. Good job CP.

Even the doves were scattered but I managed to scratch my share.
Too many water choices for everything this year.

Gznokes, I went throught the same check point. NO LE ELK that they know of yet.

Yes sir, too hot, alot of water and the weeds and flowers are too high. But there are a ton of bulls and the time's a coming.

It is weird that with all those hunters not one confirmed kill yet. You'd think someone would have gotten itchy and wacked something on a water hole.

It seems quiet, but I think more and more guys are keeping their success to themselves and friends. I know of several bulls from all across the state (including the wasatch) that haven't made the web and probably never will.

Got into quite a few bulls so far. Had a rag 5 at 10 yards yesterday morning. Darn thing bout ran me and wife over. Its been fun. They are bugling pretty steady in the morning and dying off. Only seen one bull with cows this morning so things are starting to get going. Looking forward to the next ten days.
Good luck Gents

Talken a little this weekend, but holy crap for the hunters!
Hunted 9 days so far, taking a little break until the last 8 days. Not too worried yet, have seen lots of bulls. Just not where this old fart can get to them. LOL

Good times coming next week I can feel it!
