With every thing that could and would go wrong with my hunt I stayed at it and I couldn't be happy with the end result. He's not the biggest but at 51" wide and 50" beams and a nice devil point he'll look nice on my wall. And a big thanks to HorseCreek for helping me out and pulling me back together when it mattered the most. And for a loving and caring wife who waited for 24 days for me to return home from my 14 year quest. Enjoy

Way to stick with it, the bow hunt is alot tougher than some people think. I spent 12 days with my brother-in law on the Monroe 2 years ago and he finally connected on the last day. You can take alot of satisfaction from a well earned trophy!!

Very nice looking Bull, That mountain is a beast, you have to have a top notch mental mindset before and during the hunt, that mountain will take your Mental game to a high and lows. Keeping your mind right is the different in scoring or going home empty.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

Congratulations on the nice bull and congratulations on sharing your hunt with your kids; that's awesome.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Maybe not the highest scoring or longest-tined bull on the unit but a helluva archery bull without a doubt. Many throughout the west will never find their pins on a bull of that caliber within range. My hat's off to you for overcoming and sealing the deal on a great bull!!!!

Congrats on a great archery kill!

The bull looks GREAT and score be damned. We all like to talk about score but it really shouldn't matter all that much.

Ya done good!

Thanks for sharing your photos with us.

Great job. I hope your kids got to see the action. A heck of a nice looking bull. I'm sure I'm not the only one on here that would love to hear the story once you get time.

Here's a little bit of pics to show how the hunt started...

The tongue of the trailer broke @ biglake...almost 20,000lbs dead in the road for the night! Huge thanks to a local to bring his welder up and spend the day helping! He will remain nameless but AWESOME karma coming his way

Good job Extrema. Really good looking bull, and character to boot. An outstanding trophy after an outstanding effort. You earned it and have every right to be thrilled with the outcome.

The memories of the good times and the hard times will live with your family for ever. As the years go by the memories will get sweeter and the campfire stories will get better.

Congratulation on a great bull.

Cngrats,no one down there deserved that more than you for the amount of time you put in.I'm heading back down tonight to finish the hunt out ,But that does not look like a yellow square elk to me :) and as far as the size of the rack goes it means little compared to the memorys made RIGHT ON!!

Way to get it done! Nice bull, wish I was down there again!

?The bugle of the bull elk echo?s through the pines, the north wind moans her lonesome lullaby, he hungers for the freedom of an eagle as she flies?somewhere beyond the great divide?

Go give it your all Avacado. Its in full swing with the bulls and from all the fat and layers of meat he had going on winters coming and they aren't wasting any time to get the party started. email sent. Good Luck

Good job. Thats a nice bull which broadhead did you end up shooting him with? The T3 or the Carbon Tuner.
Looks like you had a good time with your kids congradulations!

Shoot em till their dead

Nice bull, way to get it done! I envy you being able to stay out over 3 weeks in the field! My wife would probably be 6 feet under from the 3 kids by the time I got home! Oh and whats with that tall fence in the back ground?

There are timber sales all over the mountain and they put fences up to keep the animals out for the plants and trees to grow back. It was all 100% fair chase the bull just happened to run in to one after he was shot.

I honestly think that people (I know for a fact) get waaaaay too caught up in the score of an animal. I've seen it ruin many a hunt and trophy. I have 2 racks in my loft from hunters that thought they weren't good enough to take home with them. Both of them are 340+ bulls. Congrats on making the most out of your hunt, involving your family and enjoying the success regardless of the score of the animal. And it really is a trophy bull. Plus it's got character, which in my book puts it right at the top of the trophy list.

It's always an adventure!!!

Congrats! You got it done and that is all that matters.
It is the memories that you will enjoy regardless of the size. Some of my most memorable hunts were on smaller animals.
That is a super bull and has tons of character and will look amazing on your wall....
The Monroe can be a tough hunt but hard work always pays off!

Also, that is a cool picture with your kids. That feeling of being there with your kids is a great! They will talk about that for a long time!

Thanks AR my kids are still reeling about it. I am also excited to have help out another MMer and to see the smile on his face from his success. It makes my hunt that much more memorable. Thanks to all for you comments. Extrema1
