Just got some film developed and figured I'd share some pics with you guys. No doubt this season was the best I've ever had. MnT was the season ending highlight but he really doesn't beat my opening week hunt with my son and my dad. Watching the excitement in my son as he killed his first grouse was tops in my book.

BC, looks like you had a fantastic season........Congrats.....I know what you mean about sharing with your son, what a thrill........I bet you are especially proud to have the memories and pictures with your Dad in them.........hope you make more memories this next season.... Allen Taylor......

In Canada we call that an Inuksuk. Inuit piled rocks as landmarks indicators. It is a common trend now to see people building them just for the sake of building them.

Great pictures and some amazing country! It sure looks like you and the family had a lot of fun this fall.

Great pictures as usual, absolutly beautiful country, did your son kill the whitetail? Did your dad get the small mulie with the neat dropper?Congratulations on killing M&T but in a way I bet your sad.Keep the great pictures coming I think this is what makes this site so special not all the bs everytime someone kills a great buck or something, everyone is so damn negative nowadays I'm sure thats why a lot of good stuff is not posted. Great job BCBOY.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-17-06 AT 09:45PM (MST)[p] Them kid's sure are lucky they got your wifes good looks:7
Might as well post up the pic of Dad's Tom also Eh? Then you all would see who got the good looks in the family.

Some outstanding pictures there for sure and the look on your sons face is something to be proud of too. Those pictures up on top of the mountains sure gives an awesome view, just like the top of the world. Thanks for the pictures and have a great Holiday with the family.

Congrats Steve on a succesful season and congrats to your son and dad on their success as well.

What ever happened with your Grizz tag??

Bigmoosie,
The whitey is my opening day meatbuck. It was a team effort. My son saw it and I shot it. He was pretty pumped about it. The next day my dad shot that little dropper muley. Nice young buck.

Since horshoe has given the okay, I'll post up dad's big tom that he killed a couple weeks ago. I'm really super happy for him. He's flying on cloud 9. Since his heartattack a few years back, this was lookin like a impossible dream, but that dream became a reality. The tom is 7'3" nose to tail. Looks like it is gonna score just shy of All-Time Book.

Tuffbucker,
The grizz wasn't meant to be. I hunted hard and spent something like 18 days looking for a giant. Only saw one during the season. Glassed him up way up in the alpine from the valley bottom. Had my boy with me so it wasn't doable to put the stalk on it. Was lookin' for a big boar that I saw last year and from what I hear that bear ended up getting harvested this year. The draw wasn't a once in a lifetime hunt, only 4:1 odds, so I believe I'll be getting my hand on that tag again in the future.

Man, that's some beautiful country and beautiful kids as well. Very cool that your son and your dad shared so much of that hunt with you. Congrats to you on a fine season and on finally taking MnT. What a great story.

Steve,

Thanks for sharing your pics and stories. Great country and pictures.

Just out of curiosity, do the big bucks move into that country above the timber during the summer and are they still there in the early part of the deer season?

ICM,
There are big bucks in secluded pockets throughout most of that high country. They do range well up into the rocks in the summer in an effort to avoid the bugs. Come late summer, they normally drop to the subalpine/high elevation timber pockets because the frost has started to kill out the veg. Some big boys stay up that high well into winter. Others bail for the lower ground at the first sign of snow. Seems every buck is different. With the winter range being so close, some bucks go up and down depending on snow levels.

bcboy, I enjoy those family affairs! Loys of people don' realize what they are missing out on. 7mmman
