My DIY Fishlake Muzzleloader Bull

Well the 23+ hr drive was very long but worth it. I would like to personally thank all those on this forum that provided constructive help which led to success in filling this tag DIY. Its a 7x7 (including the matching stickers) that should go 340" or so.

Actually not to bad. Killed him in a rough area but luckily got some horses to take the meat down I packed the rack/skull half way down until it opened up so the horse could take over.

Uuuuuuuhhhhhhhh, just in case you were unaware the bulls in utah have dropped in score from 330 to 310. For some reason noone kills elk over 310 in that state. If you want to keep everyone on here happy I would highly suggest that you restate the score of your bull to 310.

Did you happen to see the spyder bull? well that my friend is a 330 bull and not an inch more!

good job on a nice elk. but that bull is no where close to 340. 300", MAYBE. i never understand why people cant just be happy with their bull? a 300" bulls is cool too. there is no reason whatsoever to try and tell people this is a 340" bull? i just dont get it? if you were really unhappy with the bulls score then why shoot it? but if the score doesn't matter and yo0u had the hunt of your lifetime, again- why does it matter?

Glad to see the score patrol out bashing posts again. If score bothers you clowns dont read the posts, just look at the pics and enjoy. I promise the hunter could give a 5hit less what we all think of the score all it accomplishs is discourges other hunters from posting!!!

Ya , good question . Why does it matter to you ? That bull looks a lot closer to 340 than 300 . I can really understand now why fellow hunters are not waanting to post on this site now . It's gotten to be a joke with all the self proclaimed score masters calling a hunter out on a score .

Pete congrats on a sweet bull with the smoke pole . I'm sure the long drive home was a little better knowing you had a great hunt .

Score was an estimate from someone who knows elk better than me. I guess I should have never posted it. Frankly, I have not put a tape on him and probably wont for a while... as I could careless and have better things to do like help my sons fill their WI deer and turkey tags.

I think people are just trying to mess around a little bit. This sites notorious for razzin people on their scores. That bull could very easily go 340 and looks like it would to me.

Regardless, great looking bull, love the extras. Congrats, that area is a fun area to hunt.

Looks like everyone on here is an expert on scoring, numbers are not that important as the experiences you have while hunting. For all the number folks I'm still going 330-340 give or take a little, Congratulations Pete...

Pete....SO glad that you got your bull! Sorry I was not more help. Things have been a little crazy around here and work has got in the way of my hunting! I am happy that things turned out well for you.

Dont worry about these score guys....ignore them and be happy with a very nice bull!!! If you ever get out this way again...be sure to let me know!
