Im thinking about buying a bow froma friend but I want to know what you guys think about it first.

He is selling a Hoyt Magnatech with XT2000 limbs, dual cam and a half?

He bought it two years ago and has not shot it more than a dozen times, wants to sell it for 500 bucks?

what do you guys think

Rumple, he's way over priced on this bow. Call a proshop in your area and ask them how much they would give you in trade (a range) for one and realize that's whole sale. It's not a bad bow if it fits you. good luck.

A good bow but way overpriced. If it was totally outfitted with top of the line quiver, sights, rest, and in excellent shape I would not go past 350 for bow only. With a good hard case and a dozen good arrows 450 and maybe 500.

Tell him you can by a brand new 2006 Bowtech for just little more than that now that the 2007's are here.

waaaay to much. You can get great deals on bows on the classified section of archerytalk.com. The magnatech, even brand new, wasn't even that much, if memory serves me right.

Way overpriced! I wouldn't pay more than $300 bare bow. $400 for a full package. Look elsewhere rather than insult a friendship.

I sold the exact same setup this fall for 350 with arrows. It is a good bow short brace height though. Couldn't shoot it after I bought a bowtech . nwhunter

Buying stuff from friends is never a great idea because both parties rarely view things as an equal trade. With that said, I agree with the above posts.

Thanks for the replies I was tempted to buy the bow but need more info from you guys.

He has a hard case with it and it has the whole setup, there are no arrows with it though. He said when he bought it 2 years ago he paid about 750 for the bow, case and whole setup.

With the setup and the case would you guys still say somewhere around 300 to 400?

If you're looking to save a couple bucks, check out ebay. I bought a brand new Reflex Buckskin package (Fuse sight, trophy taker rest, fuse quiver, and 6 arrows) for $400.

Wasn't the original retail price on the magnatech $400?

Like other have said, way over priced.... Infact, I don't think that bow has been in production for atleast a couple of years. If you're dead set on Hoyt you can buy year old Trykons all day long for $400-$450 on ArcheryTalk. Good luck!
