Well, I'm back from the beautiful Arizona desert. The last two weeks had it's highs and lows, as the mule deer weren't quite rutting where I was at and the big bucks were no where to be found. I passed a few smaller bucks early on, waiting on the bigger ones to show.I ended up being in the right place at the right time for this 25? P&Y class buck. I'm glad I decided to take him, as I didn't see many larger this year. He has decent mass, great eye-guards, with a broken G4 on his right side.

I feel VERY lucky to have him, as I spent the last week trying to find a shooter for my hunting partners with no luck. I did manage to take a photo of a decent 28" 3x4 that Fred would probably arrow if given a chance this weekend. Hopefully, he'll find him again. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Congrats on the P&Y buck. Nice pics and I hope your friend sticks one through the ribs of that buck this weekend.

Roy.....like I say ever January, gotta be one of the hunts I look forward to seeing or hearing about every year. Congratulations on another successful year down there. Great pics.

First off, congrats. A buck like that and the others you've taken are more than impressive. I just moved to AZ two years ago and still have my WY, UT, CO hunts every year but I know I've been missing out down here. This whole desert thing has got me spun around a bit. I've been out about ten days in the last two months and have come up with about four does, a spike and a willowy 2X3, but no shooters. Mainly North of Phoenix.
I undrstand the value of a "honeyhole," but would you rip me a pm or any other info possible to get me headed in the right direction. Do you sit water? Track? Just glass etc.? I would just love to see some decent bucks. Thanks again and congrats.

Thanks folks, I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. It's been a long season, I'm actually looking forward to a little bit of relaxation.......at least until archery gobbler season. :)

Just got back from a 6-day hunt in the desert near Kingman with a great guy from Michigan. We saw 16 different bucks, the best an awesome 30 inch 3 X 3. Got some great video of some of the bucks he stalked.

He got one shot at 40 yards at a 20" inch wide buck, but arrow flew over his back...

Saw pigs and lots of quail...

He found out quickly that every plant out there has a sticker of some kind on it. We had a great time!

Guys that bag bucks like Roy gets on a regular basis are ranked real high in my book!
