Best elk ever!

I know it is only a p i s s cutter but this will be one of my most cherished elk hunts ever! Why? Because I got to share the entire experience with my 8 year old son. I can't begin to tell you all how proud I am of the little man! He has put more miles on his little boots than most grown men will put on in two seasons. He has been on some hikes that I know a lot of grown men would not make and he never complained or missed a beat! His sitting skills need a little work but his legs are in perfect form. He actually spotted this bull and was a little more than excited when I didn't see him right away. To see his little eyes light up and see the grin on his face when the bull went down will forever put a smile on my face. I honestly don't think I was any more excited last year when I shot my good bull than I was today! Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture, waiting on my buddy to send me some better ones but wanted to share our story.

Also want to thank two great friends D and Blake. D for the invite, 1st class accommodations and great company. Blake for the Awesome chicken sandwich, great company and help getting the elk out. Great people!

Great story, and awesome time with the kids!!!

Just a suggestion, if your not going to do anything with the antlers, have some one makema knife for your son out of the antler, it willmbe something he treasures for life!!!

Nice job Brotha it looks like yall had a great time and filled the freezer. After the experience we had on Manti with our buddies kids and seeing how your hunt went I think it may be time to get my little one out on something other than a deer hunt. Congrats man and put up more pics. when you get them.

That is awesome. Congratulations to you and your growing young man.
Nothing is better than that right there.
Best,
Jerry

Now THAT boys and girls, is what it's all about! That trophy right there is better than any 400" bull or 200" buck could ever be.

Awesome!

I agree!! Better than any other story about a 400" bull...this is why I love hunting and this site!

Thanks for sharing your experience!!! I am taking my 8 year old daughter on her first deer hunt this weekend. I can not wait!!!!!!

Yep, that is hard to beat! Looking forward to seeing my daughter over a bull or buck this year!!

Nice Bull man, and Great Story! Enjoy! Glad to see your hunt didn't get skunked even better that you got to do it with your son!

Thanks for all your help BTW, we didn't make it out again for one reason AND another. Next year though! Take it easy brotha'.

What a great great hunt! I can't wait for the next great moment with my son! Just an FYI to make that weekend even better! When we got home Sunday my wife showed me an email from my son's second grade teacher that thanked us for raising such a helpful caring son. He has been a big help in his class! It REALLY doesn't get any better than that as a parent, I have never been prouder! That weekend will never be forgotten!

Sorry for all the bragging but I am one proud dad!
