I'm headed to the book cliff's on the muzzle loader deer hunt.
I have not hunted there since they took the 3 point or better away. Anyone out there had this tag lately that can toss me some ideas??

There are no deer on the Bookcliffs. The tag is not worth it. You should turn the tag in!!

There are only 180 to 190 class bucks in that worthless unit. If U cant shoot 200 inch deer it must not be worth hunting right. So do everybody a favor and turn it back in.When I sat and watched Garth Carters talk for 2 hours he told everybody in there why go to a unit that does not produce 200 inch deer so just turn it back in so u can hunt CO where all the 200 inch deer live. 190s just are not worth your time right.

My cousin drew the archery bull elk permit for the Book Cliffs South. I will keep my eyes out for any good bucks and let you know. We will scout it this summer and hunt in Sept.

Sure, put it in my name!!
I have been there the last 3 years during the muzzleloader hunt. The deer are scattered throughout most of the unit, but I found most of the deer were up high in late Sept. We saw a neat cactus buck there last fall. I don't think it was harvested. My brother harvested a nice 4x5 170 class buck there during the 2004 muzzy season. See the latest issue of Muley Crazy ("More Great Muleys section), for his picture.

Here is one of those little ole 190 class bucks that are not worth your time. Was taken 2 years ago on the books on the rifle hunt.

I hunted the Book Cliffs with a muzzleloader last year. Say lots of nice deer and was able to harvest one as well. e-mail me at [email protected] for information.
