Anyone know anything about unit 69 in Colorado? What type of country it is made up of? The amount of private versus public land in areas where deer would be in the third rifle season? What I could expect to see and kill in the area? Show your pictures if you got some!! Thanks for the info.

On one end of the unit there is a small, gently rounded knoll with a sparsly vegetated topside and a little draw that runs off the other end into a deep dark canyon with very slick sidewalls. At times you feel like you can't see the bottom but those of us with experience have no trouble going all the way down and back. There are two peaks behind it in the distance that are capped pretty pink spires of granite. They are really beautiful.

The other end of the unit has a large promontory of a rock outcropping that seems to be really attractive to some guys for unknown reasons. Its definately not my type of terrain but every year some Utards are seen sitting right on top of it for hours glassing with stupid looking smiles on their faces.

Buckspy: I had my girlfriend read your post & it took her about ten minutes of explaining it to her until she finally got it. Classic. I love hunting in unit "69".

LMAO! That was KTC and WARBIRD fighting over that glassing spot..

I'm more of a unit 68 kinda guy...... I get it from you and I'll owe you one.

this is officially the best post on this board in about 3 years...
thanks, BS.

Just got done hunting unit 69. It was one of the best hunts I've had in a long time! One can smell and feel just how special this unit is from the second they step into the wild. hmmm...I should stop.

Yeah the hunting there definetly goes in cycles. It can be great at times, and at other times I just try to stay away. There is about one week a month that you won't catch me there.
