Well on tags for me in Wy. so I'm looking to use my P.P. (7) in Colo. looking at units 40 and 66 is one unit more bowhunter friendly then the other? I'm in my late 50's but in good walking shape. looking for any info. that I can get. not looking for trophy bulls just a chance at any bull with my bow. Thanks good luck in the draw J.C.

I have never set fot in either BUT I have froends that have hunted both and talked to them extensively about the respective unit.

40 is mostly private, has some really big bulls but I wouldn't hunt it unless I had access lined up.

66 has some good bulls, lots of elk and is mostly public where the elk will be during archery season. BUT it can be tough getting to them as most will be high.

If you have the money and want to pay to access private, 40 would be my choice. My friends have taken alot of bulls off of 66 over the last 10-15 years. Best was 330" but they hunt later with a rifle and get most of them with snow on the ground.

All the options I had found in unit 40 were very expensive. Way out of my budget. I would be looking at 66 if it was me.
