I have a set of Cabelas MTO50 rain gear. It is ok if there is light rain but if you get caught in an all day rain it is about worthless. I need something better than that stuff. How about some recomendations. It's tuff finding something that keeps you dry and is sill somewhat quiet.

Sorry to hear that. If that stuff doesn't work I don't know what stuff will, maybe try the Sitka stuff.

My MT050 works great. I have spent hours in downpours at football and soccer games and have stayed perfectly dry.

Sometimes rain gear fails because water comes through the sleeves or through the face and up from under the pants. I make sure that those places are as seeled a possible and things work great

+1

My MT050 works great as well. Spent 5 hours in a down pour walking through waist high sage brush looking for an animal and was dry as a bone when I was done.

I love the stuff!

Been using Cabellas packable RainSuede for years with great success. If I get into heavy stuff I have a poncho to hole-up till it passes.Make sure to seal cuffs, wear gloves and gaiters to keep wicking down.If I know its going to be real bad rain or snow I'll put on the Gore-tex waterfowling parka and rain pants, noisier but I stay dry.

The only truly waterproof raingear is rainwear that has a pvc coating or something similar. All, "waterproof" membrane type rainwear will fail. In Alaska, the guides use Helly Hansen impertech II. They will also recommend their clients get this as well.

We sell the impertech II and the Sportchief membrane type rainwear. If you want to check it out, go to www.hunthardcore.com.
