I apologize if this has been discussed or if it is old news, but has anybody noticed that the NM state record typical has been broken, since 2004? I was checking the web site to verify the application deadline. While there I noticed they had a listing of the state records. Well, lo and behold, Joe Garcia no longer holds the state record for typical mule deer. It lists a deer from 2004, with "unknown hunter" listed as the hunter. The list looks like this:
B&C Score Location Hunter Year
1. 213 4/8 Rio Arriba County unknown 2004
2. 211 7/8 Rio Arriba County Joseph A. Garcia 1965
3. 209 5/8 Rio Arriba County Kelly Baird 1984
4. 208 6/8 Rio Arriba County James R. Odiorne, Jr. 1978
5. 206 6/8 Rio Arriba County Robert J. Seeds 1996
6. 206 4/8 New Mexico unknown 1956
7. 206 3/8 Rio Arriba County Jim Roddie 1971
8. 206 2/8 Rio Arriba County Harley Hinds 1963
9. 205 4/8 Rio Arriba County picked up 1993
10. 205 1/8 San Juan County David A. Brooks 1995
Are there any pictures of this buck? Does anyone have any information at all about this buck?? Why not any hoopla over this buck, considering that it's almost impossible these days to hide a 200" net typical buck from the prying eyes of the internet....hell, when somebody kills a buck that grosses 200" it is usually on fifteen websites, three magazines, and circulating through email before rigor has even set in. Just wondering how this one slipped through, or did I just miss the train when it passed through??
Anyways....just curious!
