hey guys just noticed the new "Guess the score buck" and really like the mount, top notch as always from Mr Paul Pennie, i think i need to figure out how to get a mount down by him. Anyways, to the question, Where does a form like this come from, i havent seen a harsh turn like that for a mule deer form in any of the taxidermy catalogs, and also how he goes on the wall looks like its on his other shoulder. I really like it, i got a wall pedestal down on my last buck, but i would like a wall pedestal with a little bigger turn and what not, can anybody give me some detail and input on this. thank you

Garrett

There's alot of different forms out there to suit many customers and taxidermists needs. A good taxi can also modify a form to a desired pose if needed.

I really like that mount too. I don't know if it's the black background that gives it contrast or what, but it really caught my eye when I signed on and I was thinking to myself what a great mount it is. Awesome buck always helps, of course, but I do like that turn.

That's a form that's been modified by the taxidermist. A person can cut and change the angle of the head any way they please with a mount, though it's a lot of work. Who ever did that spent a fair amount of time getting the form ready for that mount, great job!

Garrett, Thanks for the reply, That mount is a modified whitetail wall pedestal with a mule deer change out head....There really are not to many custom mule deer forms out there to choose from, There are alot more unique whitetail forms, so with a little creative thought, one can take another form and change it to the look that you want, The trick is too make the anatomy fit the cape or animal that you are working with.........Paul

Order a catalog from Reasearch mannikins, they have an awsome catalog and lots of different mounts. I am lucky enough to live in the same small town as them [in Oregon] and my wife use to work there. My younger brother happens to be good friends with the owner also.

thanks guys for the help and the tips. I will look into the Research Mannikins catalog. And thank you very much Paul for the reply. You do amazing work, i would love to sometime be down there and swing into your shop. thanks again
