Hmmm.... that's a tough one. I know the entiat right now with the recent snow melts that the deer are spread out pretty well... Check out Oklahoma Gulch though, there's still quite a few deer in there. As for Swakane, it's not as easy to glass because it is quite steep and the valley isn't very wide...

You could do a couple different simple things. If your just lookin' for a fun drive with the family and maybe have a chance at seeing some deer and wildlife there's places you can go.

I would start with just heading up Swakane Rd. It's right off West Hwy. 97 that runs you between Wenatchee and Chelan. You can take off up in there for a while. Not exactly sure how many deer your gonna see but you might see some. Possibly some Big Horn sheep as well.

You could also head up Entiat River Rd. off of Hwy 97. Takes you up towards a little town called Ardenvoir, actually it's just a gas station. :) From there you can always go up Mad River Rd. or Mudd Creek Rd., that's some neat country. You could always just follow Entiat River Rd. on out.....that would keep you guys busy too.

There are Sheep right along Hiway 97 between Wenatchee and Swakane!!! They winter there every year. You can call me if you like and I will tell you were to look or might meet you there and show them to you. Send me a pm!!! Good Luck

My wife and I went to Ohme Gardens above Wenatchee last year and they said they had a group of Bighorns come right in to the park and create a ruckus. I guess they range down frequently, especially near the orchards.

I took a drive along the river just yesterday. The sheep were about a mile past Ohme Gardens right on a south slope next to the highway. I didn't realize the heard was getting so big. There must have been 25. I drove up Swakane in the middle of the day and there was not much to see. I did see quite a few deer up Entiat river though. I only went about 10 miles. Good luck.

Hey everybody thank you for all the info.If we make it out i will let you know how it went.Once again thanks for the info.
