Antlerless elk help

The application time is near for antlerless elk and my son and I are looking to apply since we only drew general deer tags for the fall. This is my sons first year with any tag(s) in his pocket and we'd really like to bring some elk meat home this winter. I'm looking for some help or advise as to where to apply that might offer us some good opportunity. We live in northern Utah and don't have access to private property. If you know any landowners or ranchers who have a problem with elk tearing up their fences or causing any problems, please let me know.

Any advise or help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you want elk meat and an easy hunt, apply for the depredation permits. The DWR will give you a call when there is an elk problem, give you a map of the ranchers property, you drive up, shoot one out of a field and go home.

If you want a little more of a challenge, buy a Nine Mile Cow Elk tag and I can show you a few places but it isn't easy, just a guaranteed tag.

Wasatch Mountains West is an easy tag to draw. It's a huge area with a ton of elk and public land. I believe they gave out 350 tags last year. My brother in law and I have been drawing that tag every other year for the past six years.
