Anyone know the odds of drawing this. This was my fifth year putting in and I still haven't drawn it. I heard somewhere that the odds were 1 in 16 but I'm not sure how reliable that is. I am just hoping that I draw it before I turn 18. Does anyone know why they don't do points for this?

Odds on the early youth hunt are around 1 in 92 chance at drawing. Last year only 15 tags issued, 13 res and 2 non resident. The late hunt was 270 resident and 30 non res. Those odds were closer to 1 in 16.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-01-12 AT 11:15AM (MST)[p]I had the numbers printed off awhile ago but can't find them now. But if I recall, the early hunt had a three year average of about 4500 applications but last year and this year they were giving about 270 res tags. Which averages to be about 1 and 16 kids drew. I noticed the late youth hunt had worse odds but can't remember what they were due to only being interested in the early hunt.

If I remember correctly, the late hunt had odds of 1 in 20 kids in 2011. I don't remember the tag numbers and applications numbers. But I was surprised that the late hunt had worse odds due to the early hunt being during the rut.

My 12 year old daughter drew the early tag! She is so excited and lucky to draw . If anyone has any info regarding this hunt we would be very grateful.

Non-resident youth have WAY better odds than a resident Youth.

Resident early is 1 in 92 NR is 1 in 12.5
Resident Late is 1 in 16.3 NR is 1 in 6

Just doesn't seem right. Utah ought to limit NR tags up to 10% not a guaranteed 10%
