Hows the hunting in the Pine Ridge. A friend invited me to hunt on his families land just east of Crawford near the Ponderosa WMA. Normally I would never say no , but I already have one trip planned and Nebraska is a pretty good drive from Ohio. The land has never been actively managed , but they normally don't allow anyone outside of the family to hunt. Just lookin for opinions on the quanity and quality of the Mulie and Whitetail herd in the general vacinity. Thnaks

There are good deer numbers and there are some decent bucks. But if you are looking for a serious trophy, I'd go elsewhere. I hunted and outfitted there for about a decade and we got one buck that scored 180. The bucks just don't have much chance to get old, so there are not many big guys. But it is pretty country and can be a real fun hunt. And the people are really nice as well.

Hey MtnHunter - where in OH you from? I live in Sandusky and have been going out west hunting the last six years. Perhaps we could share some stories or information. Shoot me an email at [email protected] if your interested. I go guided once and a while but otherwise it's DIY with friends or whoever wants to go. I've been to NE, CO, WY & MT. Originally from WI, thus the cheesehead name. How often and where do you go? Dave
