300" to 320" Bull

Wondering if one of these two will make it?

Okay now for the real reason for the post. I was out scouting the Wasatch where I have a LE tag for archery. I know a 300 inch bull would be awesome to kill, but was wondering from those who have done more preseason scouting about how big a 280-320 inch bull would be right now? I saw 8 branch antler bulls and was curious as to which ones I should try and keep an eye on. Thanks for any help.

That size of bull will already be out to their 5ths and probably their sixth tines. It is absolutely amazing how fast they grow! Some of the smaller bulls will be to their fourths. This time of year they move around a LOT. If you can, watch them all! Good luck on an AWESOME hunt this fall!

Thanks UT1031. I plan on doing much more scouting, I just haven't looked for big bulls this early in the year before so I was wondering how big they should be. I'm excited and hope to see a bunch more elk.

Here is a pic of a bull taken around the same time of year. Might give you an idea of what to look for.

Sorry for the crappy pic, the sun was just rising and right into the camera but this pic was taken the first week of june in 2010.

J.C. I know right where he waters. And he is pretty stupid. I called him to about fifteen feet to get the pictures of him. Thanks UtahBigBull, I did see at least one bull about that size and a couple others that were close, but the majority were going to be younger bulls. Still fun to see regardless of size.
