Anyone know anything about the Elk in 101-103? I have a bull Elk hunt Aug 1 to Sept 30 in that area I know it well for Mule Deer but never see Elk when I have been up there. Any help would be great!!

East Humboldt Range is what I have chosen to start my hunt for an Elk I know it's going to be a bit harder than my bow hunt last year but I'm still very excited to get up there and locate some.
Our group were hunting Deer in 2005 and early one morning as we turned off of Hwy 93 that runs from Wells south to Ely onto Rd. 229 on the southend of the Humboldts we watch twice a group of Elk cross the road out there about 1/3 of the way from 93.
That is about all I can tell you but a few locals should be able to help if they are willing to do so.

Yes Brian I was hunting there last year for deer late season and saw a Cow that was hit on the road about in that same area!!! now just need to find that bull!!

I know Wes i have been hunting the Rubys for 7 years and never had the privilege of seeing one up there but i have been hunting more south Battle Creek area..
