Pics thru Spotting Scope

Looking for suggestions on equipment or techniques to get pictures thru my spotting scope. Right now I have an older Bushnell scope that I focus on the animal and then I hold up my compact digital camera and try to get a good pic thru the scope. Primitive but the pictures are not horrible. Having said that I am thinking there is a better way. Financially I am not in a position to get a new scope/camera mount set up like a pro but are there adapters that can make taking pictures easier or some other technique? Right now I fight with getting the camera on target without moving the scope, holding it steady in the wind, and so forth. If anyone has any suggesions I am all ears.

That is an really cool idea. That has to be the cheapest set up there is. Can you post some pictures you have taken please.

Thanks,
Coleman

I use an abs coupler. I reamed the inside with a grinding wheel to fit securely on the scope. You will have to figure it out from there as all scopes and cameras vary. Cost about 2 buck and a half hour.

With adapter, you can get video better than pictures.

Just build ya one of these. There is a little piece of rubber in the coupler that, if you get the right size, will slide right over your eyepiece and hold the camera and adapter on there well.

I build one and have gotten some pretty sweet shots through it so far.

All in all it cost me about $6.

Here is a pic I took through mine the other day.

Great stuff! I see the post from Ozzman has a video with instructions to glue the camera to the adapter. Is that what everyone does or is there another way? I don't necessarily want ot limit my camera to only being used with the spotting scope. Thanks for the help.

Just a tip. I setup my camera to take pics on a few second delay. This way I have no contact with the camera and movement is minimized.

I'll second the Tines Up adapter. Also there is a great PVC homemade adapter in the "Hoe To" section on Muley Madness website. fatrooster.

I have the TU setup and take video through mine. I have been extremely happy. I think I posted some pics a while back of my setup.
