Hey guys I need some opinions from u. I'm looking to start packing elk and deer for hunters this year. I have checked around a little on pricing but just thought I would ask on here what some of u might have paid if u have ever hired someone to pack for u or what u think is fair. Thanks for your time.

To answer your question, i think you could charge 3-500 per haul depending on where and how far.

Of course you know in Utah on public lands you will have to be licensed, have insurance, and be permitted with every public land management agency you set foot on for providing said services. All this cost me around 3k annually. You do the math, I guess if you can hustle up 3 or 5 guys per season, charge 300 or so per guy you might come out even. I think you would be better off finding a licensed outfitter and work with them.

Best of luck.

Thanks Todd for the reply. I've already got the licensing and insurance taken care of, just wanting to know what other people are charging so I can be fair with everyone

+1 with what Todd said.
Two years ago I paid an outfitter to pack me and my gear 11 miles into the wilderness in Colorado. I stayed up there for 17 days total and kept in touch (by satellite phone) with the outfitter throughout the whole trip. The deal also included a return trip out with my animal when I was ready and I paid $900. Worth every penny in my opinion.
It probably depends on how far you take the hunters and how tough the country is.
