It depends on what you're looking for rifle or archery? I've hunted with Hidden Valley Outfitters in Eastern Montana. Took a respectable 5x7 last Nov. with Tracy.

Several years back I hunted with Sun Trek Outfitters in Jordan, MT. It was a really good hunt, fairly easy, and the bucks were VERY plentiful. It was common to see 75 bucks per "shift" (morning hunt or afternoon hunt). BUT, they were average deer, no real monsters. If you held out, you could probably tag a slightly above average buck. If your buddy is looking for a good trip, with good accomodations at a fair price (it was then anyway) for a decent 4 x 4, in relatively easy terrain, I'd recommend them. Four of us tagged out in four days, three 4x4's and one 5 x 4 (maybe score 150-ish) with about 100,000,000% opportunity.

Powder River Outfitters out of Broadus or Hidden Valley Outfitters out of Wibaux. Either are good and will show your friend plenty of mule deer.
