Hey everyone, the Utah taxidermy show is going on at Cabelas this weekend and it looks like there's a bunch of good stuff to see. I entered a mule deer head that's hanging on the south wall (panel) that's a left turn, rock pedestal. Hope you all can make it. The judging goes on tomorrow with public viewing on Sat. and Sun. Check it out, Steve

Hey Grey, when was the deadline for placing your entries? I don't do taxi just curious. Is it more popular at Cabelas than when it was att BYU? I'll try and squeese a trip in.

Yellum, the deadline was Thursday night. The judging has been going on all day today. I think the BYU show was better because every other year they would keep it going for a month. The Cabela's thing seems to work out okay though. Steve

LAST EDITED ON May-18-07 AT 08:44PM (MST)[p]Thanks Grey. Let us know how things went for you. And pics are always nice.

Here is my entry, I hope everyone likes it, I'm very proud of it. With all the time I spent on it I couldn't help but think I'm probably going to win. Sorry to all you chumps that can't hold a candle to my work, Better luck next year.

The rock wall pedestal is my entry and it got a first place in the masters and the lifesize velvet buck is one Tracy Jacobsen did that won a high first in masters and Judges Best of Show. Tracy is on the left and Judge Dewayne Dewey on the right. He did a great job judging in my opinion.

I stopped by and checked it out yesterday. I really liked your entry. My wife said, "we should have had that guy do your deer last year." Anyways, great show and some cool entries.

Thanks guys, I think I'll try a lifesize deer next year. Just depends on available time. I'll check out Brian's video when my slow computer will get it uploaded. Steve

I'd much rather see a hog velvet mule deer than some cracked out house cat. You seem mighty confident. Let me know how it works out for ya.

Uh.... I think it was just a joke dude......

With a cat mount like that he has got to be serious. I haven't seen work like that before. He has my vote.

Thanks Mortgage man, always a pleasure when someone recognizes good work when they see it. :7
Also, no.... my cat was not doing crack, I did take it over to Bobcats house around that time & he has about two acres of cat-nip planted behind his house so maybe Fluffy got into that.

haha i watched a video that the founder made... and those 2 bucks were my favorite out of all of them. nice job!!!!
