"""WELL Todd!""":D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D!!!

Things are Tough this year!

Some Hunters that have pulled Tags are gettin Nervous!

They've been Scoutin since they Pulled the Tag!:D

And they just ain't been seeing many Wanna-Be 400" Bulls!:D

The 27% is Common Sense!

Add the percentage of Precip that we are below average in!

Add the Fires & Fires to come in there!

Add in the Units that have been over hunted in the last few years!

Add the Cow-Killin that's been takin place in there!

Add this!

Subtract that!

Divide this & that!

"""Well!"""

You get the Idea Right?:D

"Well Todd" Did you hear how many SOB'ing Cow Elk they plan on knockin down on the Wasatch Unit?

Think that'll make the percentages go up?

You are completely full of crap! This years horn growth is going to be near record levels. You obviously haven't gotten out of the truck to go take a look anywhere this year have you? Where's your pics of this supposed lack of horn growth? Do you have any pics of the same bull from this year and last year around the same time? Didn't think so, oh most clueless one :(

by your reply of the 27 % under i know your a doush wtf are you trying to prove by saying its guna be a bad season cause its dry elk growth is fine to me quit being an internet scouting homo and shut up !!!!!!!!!!!!...

LAST EDITED ON Jul-26-12 AT 06:41PM (MST)[p]"Any bull with 27% less antler growth will still be the largest animal I've sent an arrow through"

That's not what he said. What was stated was that they are at 27% of normal, which means their antler growth is 73% less than normal for this time of year.

Hey c3!

Know where 2 Bulls that survived from last year, yes they are the same 2 Bulls & are considerably packin less Antler than they were at the same time last year!

So You can STFU!

I don't Post many Pics on the Net,and if I did it'd just Piss several Hunters off knowing they just ain't as big as the should/could be!

You'll have years like this!

I'm not claiming there ain't some Big Bulls around because there is!

But I ain't Postin em on here to show your Sorry Ass!

Thanks Bess,

Just turned in my gen season elk tag,
worried all the spikes are gonna be cows,
and all the rag horns will be questioning their gender this fall!
I hope I can turn up something worth shooting on the gen deer hunt! LOL.

Bessy, which unit are you on the waiting list to draw a left over tag in? Thinking you should have said the antler growth in that unit was 50% less, then no confusion on if it was 50% less growth or 50% of last year. You should dummy your comments down to at least a GED level. :)

Hey BloodTracker!

There any meat left when you shoot a General PISSCUTTER with that Cannon?:D

Don't you guys have any sense of humor? I read Bess post and knew he was trying to yank someones chain and lmao. Lighten up life is too short. Get some perspective my good friend retired in May went in for a physical last week advanced pancreatic cancer 3 to 6 months. I'm enjoying my tags this year whether they have 27% less antler growth or 73%. I wish it was September.

Yeah, if anyone is reading this with a cache south tag, you should turn it in. All the bulls are spikes this year.

"There any meat left when you shoot a General PISSCUTTER with that Cannon?"

Yeah, I learned after that last elk to just shoot in the general area of the animal.......They die of shock or something but the meat is all intact.

The only thing not intact after the shot is my shoulder! LOL.

Ha ha, I got a pahvant tag and have seen plenty of shooters this year.. Not worried at all! Its a great year for antler growth

I have only been out scouting one time. Saw 5 different bulls. 3 raghorns 1 350 class bull and one 390 class bull but no 400 inchers so maybee I should turn my tag back in?

Haha, I know Bess is just razzin but I read some AZ outfitter on Facebook the other day saying antler growth is down 5%??? Wtf? How do these nut jobs get these numbers?:)

for me to get a turned in tag(Bookcliff) everyone would have turn in those tags like 10 times over. So lets get started turning them in. LOL

Posted this on another thread too ,,,But,

I went to the Springville DWR last week to surrender a cow
permit that conflicted with other hunts,,,,,,,anyway,

I was shocked to see the list of surrendered pr emits at
just that office! It was verily long, and most of them
were LE elk tags....maybe 25 or so...

SO YES , there are quite a few being surrendered..

sttm, you must use the same arithmetic on horn growth as the dwr use. on deer numbers,

to heck with utah. the horn growth here in nm is phenominal. last year in unit 34 alone u couldnt eeven find a 6x. i had tow giant bulls spotted and everything else was under 300". well this year ialready got trail cam pics of 400" bulls and the dern things are sproutin horns like crazy. wish u woulda apllied for nm this year bess.

i gotta agree with u though bess. i cant stand the mm'ers. everytime i make a post someones thong gets in a bunch or they appear to be goin through menopause or something. i cant stand these friggin mm'ers anymore.

Obviously you have been cooped up in your house too long. This is going to be a fantastic year for elk. I have seen more trophy bulls this year than the last two combined.

Dry? Not at all, the rain and moisture is plentiful on many LEs and the grass and vegetation is as lush and green as ever. The bulls are fat and the antlers are big.

Get off your duff and see for yourself!

Bess you must be talking to different people than me! The wifey has a muzzy tag on the Boulder and I have heard nothing but good things.

HJB!

Before Running your Mouth maybe you need to know the Units I'm talking about?

I never said anything about the Pahvant Unit!

Several Units I haven't been in to,Yet this year!

FYI!

In case you've Forgot?

Last year We had one of the Wettest & Greenest years in History where I'm talkin!

This Year We've had one of the Driest I remember!

So you're tellin me that from one Extreme to another makes no difference on Antler Growth within a couple years?

Several Units are Suffering from very little Moisture & the least amount of Wintewr Snow I've ever seen on a couple Mountain Ranges!

I am Glad to know you never see a Bull Smaller than 400" on the Pahvant!

Get off one certain Unit & Move North & You'll see what I'm talkin about!

Ok, how about I move North all the way to the South Cache unit. As of July 1st there were still snow drifts up there near the monte cristo campground. Plenty of little buckaroos and a bunch of elk as well. Lush green grass and nice cool 50-60 degree mornings.

I don't see many elk shrivled up and dying up there, but I guess I'm wrong because all the elk North of Fillmore have died in the heat. Everyone should immediatley turn tags back in. 100 degree weather kills all the animals.

I will agree that it is a very dry year, but the high country is doing just fine in most areas. I would love to hunt a dry year. The elk hang around water and are easier to pattern. They are grouped up and less scattered around as well.

I'm concerned about the dry conditions of the winter ranges and the vegetation down low, but that's a concern for next year's herds. This year should be fine in most areas in my opinion.

Bessy I am glad we have no LE tags this year. Looking forward to doing some fishing !! ;-)
But we still have rifle deer tags, spike elk rifle and late cow tags. Plus a few friends have tags and want help on trophy elk tags in all of the season. But I haven't given a full commitment to them , so I may just be fishen !!!

Showthemtome

Your pulling that info out of the blue. I haven't scouted the elk this year but I would guess their horn growth is similar to the deer with respect to vegitation and rain fall. The bucks I passed on and know are back this year are bigger and horn growth seems very good. My #1 buck this year is even more impressive than last year. Up in the higher elevations the vegitation still grows and so do the horns.

As for the fires I'm not sure how a few scattered fires throughout the States lands will affect all the millions of acres and thousands of deer and elk that live in unburnt areas. Maybe the animals email or text eachoyher with updates about these things?? We will just never know

hey bessy, why do u argue with morons like HJB. hes prolly one of those guys who sees a 320 on the hoof and thinks its a toad. u really got to remember that most of these mm guys would call a 360 bull a 420. point is bessy they really have no experience with elk on the ground. youve personally seen many put down and ive had to put down close to 50 good bulls. we have a pretty good clue what were lookin at so just keep in mind going forward that these guys are very inexperienced in this department. they see a meadown up high after the minimal snowfall has melted grazing in lush fields of grass and in the middle of all of it is a bachelor herd of bulls from 250" to 310". all of the sudden big bulls are everywhere the elk are thriving and feed is overly abundant. save ur breathe bessy.

Here's one of those 320s. Turn you tags back in guys, nobody wants one of these 320 Pisscutters.

That's right Stinky, you and Bess are the elk gurus and no one else on this site are no nothing tards.....

To claim you are an expert because of 50 good bulls might be a valid claim for some, but someone who buys their tags then pays guides to find and lead you to them does not make you an expert. Try joining the ranks of us lowly folks, put your time in collecting points until you are lucky to draw, then put boots on the ground to find your own bull on a DYI hunt, then see how many GOOD bulls you put on the ground over the next few years. No where near 50, I can assure you.

Having guides field judge, then you shooting a bunch of bulls and actually putting a tape to them would make anyone a better field judge, I will give you that.

I'm No Elk GURU!

I posted there are quite a few Tags being turned back & it's the Truth!

I'm hopeing even more are turned back!:D
