CO unit 61 3rd season rifle

My partner has pulled this tag and I will be helping him out on this hunt. Any help that could be provided on what areas we should concentrate on and your experiences in this unit would be greatly appreciated. We hunted this unit for archery elk last year so we know our way around a bit.

Ditto! Drew it as a NR with 7. Would appreciate starting points. Realize season dates are later than usual and weather will matter.

My question to those who've hunted it is would my horses help or is the access so good like I've heard that the quad is a better choice?? If its a toss-up, I'll go with the horses. Gonna do it by myself.

How'd that archery elk hunt go? Been contemplating burning my elk pts on that hunt.

I thought the hunt was very good. I would recommend it. Killed a 305 bull on the 4th day. There are bigger bulls in the unit but not tons of them.
