Just realized I made Huntin Fool

After waiting 12 years on an elk tag in Oregon, I made a successful hunt. Took some pictures, wrote up a story, and sent it off a month later to the HF and forgot about it. And finally last night, after I have been reading through the latest issue for a few weeks, my wife was thumbing through it and screams 'Hey!! Your picture's in here!!'. Breezed right by it the whole time.

The story isn't in the actual mag, but apparently my story is one of 6 featured monthly online stories. And there's a monthly favorite story contest and the winner wins a rifle or bow. So, come on all you HF members - vote for me and help me win the free rifle!!!!

I promise if you all help me win, I'll give each and every one of your that comes out to Oregon a chance to shoot it!

That's sweet, congrats! I'm also a fellow Oregonian, have had the spike tag in Mt. Emily but never the "good" tag. That's some big, deep, country over there but I love it.... Glad you were able to connect on a good bull.

I have a HF subscription but only for the mag, is there any way for me to see your article? I don't get the e-mag subscription but perhaps via their website? You should post your story and pics up on here for the MM community to enjoy!

All subscribers can log onto the 'members' section of their website (and there's some good info there). You may have to call te office and get your login and password so you might want to do that. Plus there's more online stories every month (like mine) that don't make the mag.

And yes - GO BEAVS!!!! I'm nearly as excited for college football as I am hunting season.

Just found your story on the website. I do visit the site fairly regularly and make use of the "members only" section for hunt resource info but hadn't noticed the Web Stories before so thanks for tipping me off to these!

Great story and GREAT bull! Awesome dark rack on that beast and I love the Beav hat in the picture, too cool.

Also excited for kick-off, hope we have a much better year than last year. Mannion needs to hit his stride this year but needs some reliable help in the backfield....hard to replace Quizz but somebody needs to step up (and stay healthy).
