NV 061-064 066-068 muzzleloader deer

I just learned that I drew this unit. I've never been in the area so now I need to start figuring out where to scout and hunt. Can anyone give me some general guideance on where to find deer in Sept? I really like to hike and get away from other hunters and I love high country hunting.

hit the independence or tuscarora range those are usually the best mountain ranges but they got burnt pretty good last year so i dont know how the deer reacted good luck.

I hunted there last year in the tuscarora and indpendent ranges and I was supprised how little I had to hike.I was expecting it to be like the rubys or any other range i have been to in nevada.Its diffrent there you can wake up by the side of your truck every day and glass up 15 to 30 bucks and then wait them out till they bed then put your stalk on.I would not shoot a buck there unless its 28" plus should not be that difficult there with a smoke pole.
