Colo Unit 211 Help?

WE drew 2nd season can anyone give any info on the size bucks we might get? Any general area in Axial Basin? N,S,E,or West? Thanks.....Jim

GMU 211 is full of deer.Try the area of Duffy's Mountain.This area gets lots of hunting pressure but holds good numbers of deer.A few good bucks are taken every year.

Lots of deer during the rifle season, but what is your opinion on the deer population during archery season. My sons and I drew archery tags and have only hunted unit 22 on the Cathedrals. HELP! and thanks in advance.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-26-07 AT 03:18AM (MST)[p]GMU 211 holds deer all year long but,is better later in the season,because of the migration.If you hunt the cedars arround water you should have a good hunt,but don't think you will kill a B and C buck,but a respectable 3 or 4 point is possible.

Are thire areas to hike into to get away from other hunters?A respectable buck is good enough for me! Just my personel best, not B&C.........Jim

Try rattlesnake butte it is a good hike but you will get away from a lot of people.

It is a state trust land off of moffat county rd # 32. I think it is in temple canyon. if you are on hwy 40 going to maybell from craig turn left on strawbery creek rd{county rd 57} then turn left on #32. it is about 5 miles down that road. if you have a state trust map it is on their.
