Well it came down to the last day on my LE Archery hunt...seen a ton of bulls and passed on a few looking for the big one but Friday morning this guy was the first to answer the calls and I was luck enough to have him come in to 20 yards and the hunt was over.

This was one of the funnest hunts I have been on (aren't they all!), it was in a unit I have hunted my whole life and I still came away with a ton of new respect and knowlege of the country:)!

He is not the biggest bull we saw but the time spent scouting and hunting with family and friends was well worth it even if I wouln't have been successful...I must be getting old! It is nice having a freezer full of meat though!

It was a tough hunt with the bulls bugling every morning and night but they weren't coming to calls so it was a foot race every day to try and get close.

Good luck to the rest of you with tags, can't wait to see the pics!

Here he is...First bull with a bow, not sure why...I have been chasing these things for most of my life:)!

Now to start the therapy sessions...not sure what to do now that it is over:)!

?The bugle of the bull elk echo?s through the pines, the north wind moans her lonesome lullaby, he hungers for the freedom of an eagle as she flies?somewhere beyond the great divide?

Nice job. Way to get after it. Thanks for sharin. For those of you that want to know where to put an arrow in a bull, thats officially "right behind the shoulder".

"That's a special feeling, Lloyd"

Sweet Bull. So glad to hear you finally let your arrow fly. If your board I could use some help in the S. Cache. Shoot me a PM or email.

Nice job, love your attitude. To be able to hunt with family and friends, doesn't get much better than that. Thanks for sharing.

First elk with a bow...that will be your fondest memory, regardless of what you kill from here on out...
congrats!
Great looking bull..

Your dedication and hard work finally paid off in the end. It was a great hunt! Thanks for taking me along for the ride.

It may be a few years but there are more hunts in the future. Hope I can still be around to enjoy!
