Have you seen this news release? http://wdfw.wa.gov/do/newreal/release.php?id=jun2807a

It pushed me over the edge and I sent a complaint via e-mail to the WDFW. I know it won't do any good but I had to express myself on this one.

I have had numerous issues with the way WDFW has done and continues to do things but extending the deadline is ridiculous. I know there were issues about the adequacy of the WDFW's notice to hunters about the Multi Season Permit Deadline and they did nothing to "correct" it. The same cannot be said here. The website and the hunting pamphlet gave adequate warning to get your applications submitted early to avoid problems. Now, before the deadline is even close to over, they are extending it?

I missed out on the Multi Season Permit application, not because I didn't know about the deadline, I put it off and screwed up and missed the date by one day. My fault. To extend the deadline on the Special Hunt Applications is crazy. People were warned. Why hand hold and coddle people who wait until the last minute and then have problems. I guess I know the answer, its the almighty dollar but that just is not right. Okay, rant over. Good luck in the draws everyone, your odds just got worse (as if we needed that).

was just getting on to post the same thing. They are sooooo stupid. Why is are state such a joke. I guess i am confused on a deadline. Is this just a marketing tool, cause we do use false deadlines for marketing and promotions.... which is to make more money. But WDFW is suppose to be here to help manage our wildlife first and foremost right.......not $$$$$$$

Please all Washington guys, keep at those emails, one day they might do some good.

It's the same old stuff year after year. When will it ever change? I think I am starting to get numb to it all. I use to get all worked up, now it's pretty much normal.

They will probably use this as an excuss to move the results date back another 2 weeks. Maybe if some of these idiots had to sit out this year it would teach them a lesson and it wouldn't happen again. Who the hell am I kidding, There is always going to be idiots procrastinating.

The phone line for submittal went down Wednesday night and apparently there are a lot of people without internet access. WDFW offices spent all day yesterday taking phone calls and entering in people's hunt choices for them. My guess is the extension was in response to that.

Funny thing about this, is that I did all of my apps yeaterday (the 28th) morning and did not have any problem what so ever.
BS as usual.

I can see the problem with the phone being an issue worth trying to resolve.....BUT, isn't this like the third time in a
row they have done this. I remember writing a complaint about them doing this a couple of years ago.........

Government...:^(

I know what you mean.....To me a deadline is a deadline. The rest of it is excuses. It's a pretty straight forward thing here. I'm sorry if folks procrastinated and are frustrated because they waited til the last minute. Such is life.

It'd be like being late to a job interview, a concert, an airport, etc. because of traffic or a flat tire. Plan ahead and leave a little earlier next time... JUST IN CASE. In this case, plan ahead and apply a little earlier next time.

I call it a life lesson. Why we keep bailing folks out is beyond me.

Don?t you know that this is the liberal hippie nature of our state governmental agencies? Let's penalize those who follow the rules and reward those who don't! I had my freaking apps in on the first day! I can see taking a week or two to decide and get some ducks in a row but a couple of months is more than enough time to get you crap together. For those who procrastinate and get caught up in the last minute firestorm, I say tough sh!t!!!! Join the ranks of those losers who were whining about not making the deadline for multi-season permit apps!!! This is just more typical incompetent b.s. from our wonderful WDFW!!!

Total BS!!

But I also think it's BS that we have so many lazy azz "hunters" complain about when the regs are coming out, or not enough time to plan hunts, or whatever, then wait until the last fuggin' night to apply for their hunts. That too me is really unbelivable!!

Just afforded another thousand idiots that don't really have a clue what their getting themselves into with the draws a chance to take one of my tags.

My biggest complaint on this one is that they do not have to extend the deadline to PURCHASE applications in order to give people adequate time to SUBMIT thier applications if the system was in fact having problems. And, if the system is down less than one day because the idiots waited until the last minute and overloaded the system, why give 3 additional days to PURCHASE and SUBMIT applications that should have been taken care of long ago if people would take the Department's advice and apply early to avoid this exact type of problem. A one day extension would be wrong but less infuriating than extending it 3 days.

Could it be a conspiracy? Is it possible that the WA Department of Fish and Wildlife doesn't really want to support harvesting of game? I miss the old WA GAME DEPARTMENT. x(

Everything about this state is a joke. Now, what someone needs to do is use this as a precident and get them to extend the deadline on those multi-season tags that everyone was complaining about last week. Maybe, if you just applied for your controlled hunts when you bought the application, they wouldn't have this problem. Give me a break, if you can meet a deadline for your app. to Wyoming in March, why can't you meet a deadline in June? They just trained a bunch of guys that it's OK to procrastinate.

I agree with everyone as well! This state is all about the mighty dollar! They must not of recieved enough applications and made enough money, so they extended it! Total B.S. I probably would have drawn, had they not of extended it! lol
