Arizona draw for mule deer in August? What else?
I put in for a sheep tag. Are they drawing for that also? What are the details?

The part I haven't figured out yet is how they're going to handle the drawing for those who put in online before that was cancelled. AZGFD sent out a letter advising that they'd notify successful applicants who applied online, and they'd have until late July, I believe the 26th, to submit their payment or lose their tag.

That doesn't fit with everything I'm reading about this August drawing date, so does anyone have a better understanding of how this is going to work than I do? It seems clear as mud to me.

I called and they said that date to get the money in will not a drop dead date, they will give you some time to get the cashiers check in. If the draw is later, that date will slide. But I would not go away where you do not have contact with home for too long in mid to late July if you are in the top deer points pool. Imagine how bad you would feel if you did not get the money in quick enough for a strip deer or sheep tag......

And that's why I'm worried about it, Elmer. I am one of those max. points guys who put in for the strip. 13B and then 13A. I have to leave town a bit during July and I'm worried as heck about it.

As long as you are somewhere with phone or computer access, you could check for results every day. You could get a cashiers check mailed in as long as there is a bank and post office nearby. It would be a good idea to check anyway, phone messages do get lost. Think I would have mailed in the application, had I known.

Yeah, I went ahead and called the main office down in Phx and told them to cancel my online application, as I was going to go ahead and hand deliver my paper app instead. I don't trust them dudes over there, especially when I have boo-coo points for deer.
