Colorado 67

I have a Colorado 67 - 2nd Season tag and I'm looking for some general advice. I've been doing a ton of research, gathering endless maps and have even spoken to a few people who live/hunt the area. I've never been to the Gunnison units and I'm planning a scouting trip in mid August.

Anyway, I'm just looking for some general advice on what to expect for the 2nd season there. I'm not looking for honey holes or anything like that. Just some general knowledge of the area, places to start/scout and a little of what to expect with stuff like elk hunters (limited numbers I know), private land and the list goes on.

Additionally, I would recommend you contact Matt Thorpe with the CDOW, before your scouting trip. I have previously spoken with Luke Martin CDOW officer and he provided some good information about other unit. Good luck.

Hey Kirt,

I drew the same tag. I've paid my extortion fee (Conservation Tag) but have yet to get my tags. Here's a pic of a co-workers 67O2R season buck from a couple of years back.

I'm working on him for the location.
