Well looks like I will be hunting this unit in the 3rd season I have only been there one time. Is this a good unit what should I expect. Any help on the kind of deer that I should expect to see would be appreciated. Thanks

From what I've gathered is that there are alot of deer, alot or roads, and alot of hunters. But that shouldn't get you down, I think their are decent deer there and good numbers. I'd be looking for a spot as far from the road as I could. I did quite a bit of research on this unit back when I was considering buying a landowner voucher for it.

I had hunted 22 for about 18 years, mostly because there is good access for my dad to hunt without having to walk very much.
It is a huge unit and there are some very nice bucks there. You do have to get away from the roads. Find a deep draw with no access and start walking.
I had heard the Yellow Creek area held some nice deer. Tons of bucks along Calamity ridge, also some of those huge draws.

I have a muzzeleloader tag for this unit, and am trying to decide where to go that early in the year and find deer, the higher the better, is what I am thinking. The Cathedrals look good, but is their much public access with all the private. I am also courious about Calamity ridge, this is the second time I have heard someone mention it, but I cant find it on my map. Where is it at???
