i called yesterday, the second time i called they said the draw would be done today(thurs) and the results would be posted early next week...but the first time i called they said end of month.
i'm still checking every 10 minutes, even know i don't have a snowballs chance in hell of drawing.

I heard they changed their mind again and they're gonna re-extend the permit deadlines AGAIN. Really though, they ain't got it together so I won't hold my breath for the results...

This is ridiculous. We will have about a month and a half to arrange work off for a month or more for the season if you draw a sheep or other important tag... Now they won't give us a definite time when the results will be posted...

I think they should stagger the entry fee. If day X is the deadline you pay $5/app if you buy 30 days or more before. $10 inside 30 days and $20 inside the last 10. At least then some of the fiasco's over late rushes crashing sever capacity could be resolved. Of course they would have to have the regs out at least 60 days before for this to make any sense.

It is odd though that once all the data is in the system, WTF is the problem with running the random selector it should take a fraction of a second for the computer to calculate the outcomes.

What still ticks me off is the extension they decided to give everyone. What are your thoughts on that? I know some guys who have been applying for several years with no success. It has to be even more frustrating for them.

Flip, the reason they give for the extension is that the flood of last minute guys crashes the system.... so, people who are "on time" can't get their app processed.

I suggested before making a steep increase in the cost of the applicaiton if you file late to get people in the door sooner, but that's to obvious.

Of course, they could demand the vendor do something... gee, what could you do? Hmmmmm... I got it ADD SOME DAMN SERVERS? Same bat channel next year.

If you want to be irritated even further go and check out the harvest reports from last years permit hunts and check out how many people don't even use their permits. On a archery elk hunt my buddy drew last year 30 permits were issued, 27 reported and only 3 guys said they hunted with one elk being killed which was my buddy.

Almost all the permit hunts have guys not even hunting.
