AZ Unit 9 and Unit 7E Looking for Base Camp

What do you do when you draw a AZ elk tag? Jump up and down and high five each other. Two different Units but who cares. Next is planing. We are trying to figure out good spots to locate our camper on good a FS road for late gun hunt. A little extra driving is a given. Of course I want to do less driving than my partner I have the 7e tag. Just looking for any suggestions that will save us some time looking and give us good access. Thanks for any input.

Camps out toward Dog Knobs, you'll be in good elk country and right on the border of the two units.

thanks that was one of the places I was narrowing my search to. Been staring at map and google earth for to long. We are doing a diy hunt and plan to scout for 5 or 6 days before. Any more info you want to pass along would be very helpful.

Unit nine try the 347 always pretty good or maybe take a look at the lower basin.Good luck hunting and congrats on the tag's.

I had some action in 7e no shots on elk though. Saw a few good mule deer to think about.
Still one of the best hunts Ive been on.
