Well, I finally got a tag.........

I hate to say it, but do not know the area all that well.
(bombs away)

I intend to scout hard. Any suggestions for map service to help me narrow it down a bit.

Also willing to listen to any advise provided.

Thanks and good luck to all of you.

Mark

Elmacho, I drew the 12AW early hunt last year! Send me a pm and I will try to help the best I can.

I will second what Tony said. I payed for his map service last year and it was well worth it. I don't know how they did on the late hunt last year but I personally saw 3 hogs come out of his camp on the early hunt.

Wow! you guys are great.

I have the early hunt. I am not sure my profile is up to date. but I will send you guys a PM and will get my e-mail from it.

I had a feeling Mr. Adams" is the go to guy. Will be in contact with him soon.

I also drew the 12 AW late hunt.

I'm not looking for anybody?s honey hole, but if any of you could help me shrink the hunt areas down by advising me on areas of the unit to avoid, I would appreciate it. Is there anywhere in the unit where you wouldn't waste your time ?

Thanks, Dan

Duwane Adams is the MAN for the Kaibab. He consistently puts clients on monster bucks. As mentioned, he provides a map service as well. I used his map service a few years back and was not disappointed. Check out his website and see the Kaibab DVD and give him a call.......... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

LAST EDITED ON Jul-21-07 AT 12:19PM (MST)[p]These are the pix of three of the four bucks killed by Duwane Adams' hunters during the early hunt in 12A. I just finished writing an article on their hunts for the Nov. 2007 issue of Rocky Mt. Game & Fish magazine.

As an aside, two are nonresidents and drew their tags with LESS than the maximum number of bonus points. In fact, Foster had only ***ONE*** bonus point. -TONY

This is the other buck one of Duane Adams' hunters killed during the early season on the North Kaibab. I don't have any of the other info on it, bit I seen to recall it scored somewhere in the 160s or 170s. -TONY

When my son drew a 12A East late tag last year, I purchased the map package from Duwane Adams.

At first, I was a bit disappointed by what I thought was a lack of information, BUT; after getting down there and spending some time on the ground, I realized that he'd given us quality information rather than quantity. Duwane suggested a great area to camp, and gave us tips on where to hunt. In the end, my son killed a great buck and it was spotted right from an area that Duwane suggested we hunt and glass from. In the end, I felt it was worth the money for us as first (and probably only) timers to 12AE.

And that buck your son killed was a dandy, too! -TONY

P.S. -- The hunter with Duawne in the last photo I posted is J. Emmesser. He killed his buck in 12AW.
