Got tired of watching everyone else have all fun. Got this guy after work.. 2 hour hunt, 423 yard shot. Not bad for my for my first wyo general bull, or so im told?

Hey Colton, I'm still wondering how you picked up a tag so late in the year as a non-resident. Any way I can still get one?

That's pretty cool. I didn't think landowner licenses were transferable. I went back and read the regulation, and I don't see anything in there about being able to transfer a license. Can you explain how it works? Did you have to go down to G&F and get the license issued in your name?

Are you a game warden or what? Lol this bull was taken legally and on a valid tag. I play by the books im not going sit here and have to prove it to you. The bulls in Cody right now if want to make a trip out to see the tag
 
Hey, I'm just curious. I'd like to know how the system works for transfering landowner licenses in WY. I was under the impression that it wasn't allowed, but apparently it is. Maybe someone else from WY will chime in.

Re-read what I posted. I am just asking HOW IT WORKS. I cannot find it in the regs. You obviously know the WY system better than me. I thought you might take 2 minutes to explain it, that's all.

Not so smart people do it all the time that's how a lot of poachers get caught. They have a nice trophy and can't resist showing it off.
 
Oh man this is rich! "Gifted" a landowner tag? Did you forget you weren't in Colorado where a landowner tag can legally be transfered? Or do you own enough land to qualify for a non-resident landowner license? I'd like to know how this works also, I've got plenty of landowner friends and can't wait to get in on these apparently transferable licenses!
 
Screw you people. I challenge anyone to take me to court on this. The tag was already checked out by a game warden and the bull went to processor. Do you guys get off on riding my ass or what? Call the Dow you POS's ill be waiting with a valid tag in hand

Killing a bull elk on a valid tag is pretty easy actually believe or not. You see elk, you shoot elk, you pack elk. Took me 9 years to perfect it but works pretty good I think you should try it out

It wouldn't be the first time. One that comes to mind is wasatchwacker but I'm sure there have been plenty more.

I was intrigued with the happenings of this bull from the moment I saw it posted. I knew the op wasn't a resident and couldn't recall him mentioning drawing a tag.

A few ?'s. 1. Was a resident landowner tag transferred to you as a non resident? 2. WHO'S NAME IS ON THE TAG?

Who is the rancher you got the LO tag from? I live up in the area and was just wondering. Which processor did you take it to?
 
Colton, you do realize that in order for a tag to be valid for you to use, it must have your name on it? Just checking....
 
The game warden I spoke with tonight couldn't locate a license with his name on it on his computer, did find his parents' licenses, but not his....

Pretty sure his bluff will be called.....

Sounds like there could now be party hunting, hunting without a valid license, allowing someone else to use your license, etc. involved.

I may have missed it but the whole landowner thing is it has to be in your name and approved from g&f right? Because my old company I worked for gave out two area 6 elk tags and one year a guy won but couldn't hunt so he gave it to another employee but it was too late and that one guy was stuck with his area 6 tag with his name on it, he could of had it changed but did it to late. Yet all these are resident employees. Sounds like this is the case he shot, the landowner tagged. Just my lil two sense

This above incident that JB posted is true as it was covered in the Wyoming Outdoors Magazine earlier this year on that family....very large fines and most likely jail time too.

I'm betting Coloradoboy is about 14 and he didn't kill that elk at all. Maybe its Timberhunter reincarnated.

You nailed it eel. Turns out this bull is his uncles bull that he has claimed that he shot. The G&F has been on this for a number of days and put the pieces together. Hopefully he learned his lesson cause you cant bluff people that know the rules! I dont imagine we will see much of Coloradoboy back on here, but then again he did post pic of an elk that wasn't his and come up with a story of how he came about it!!!
 
I'm sure this was all done on "the up and up" but this kid is a clown and this is probably not helping his guiding service. Negative attention is crippling to a hunter and he is getting a lot of it. Not the kind of guy I want to hunt with, once a poacher always a...

I thought he made an honest mistake that would probably cost him, but now it sounds like it was a fairy tale all along! LAME!
 
I wonder if the other bull he claims he helped his friend kill is on the up and up ...makes you wonder,If he did it once he WILL do it again. Sad....

Problem is when you claim to be the best and know the most you have to come up with ways to convince people you are right. It's just hard to B.S a crowd that is on this board.

i met this guy at the bar one night and he decided to give me a tag he got from his cousing who couldnt hunt, after he got the tag from his fairy god father that magically made it on one of his 3 wishes, so i took it down to DOW and had them check to make sure it was real, ill be damned it was jus my bar tab for the night. but they said i could go hunt any unit anywhere in the US with it NM here i come hahaha whata joke man

this and the other threads have been very entertaining, he says hes gone but i give him 2 weeks before hes back under a new handle tellin fibs again. if he doesnt leave soon these threads will go on forever! anyone notice the thread in general hunting was locked out?
 
I noticed that ID. the boy just kept digging a hole! He is right, he didnt get a fine, however he was lined up and about to get one. Plan and simple he lied about getting the bull and he lied about being in on another hunt that a bull was harvested. He did however get an a$$ chewing that was well deserved! What a jackhole! All I can say is get a life! There have been some very interesting stories on here this year! 30" thirds, my gifted lo tag! Keeps it entertaining! Well done Coloradoboy and hangingmeat! You are canidates for the Darwin awards for MM!!

That does not make me a great white hunter. It does make them the great white hunter however, stop selling this BS that your a knowledgeable and prosperous guide. Whats more, I've always been in the picture of animals I have taken that I care to share with others. So the question begs, why plaster your face all over of others animals, and then when it comes to one you shot, you are no where to be seen. I know the argument will be made, he was by himself and the only one taking the picture. Well, you holding the horns would have been just as suitable. Seems fishy. Now I do know a little about Landowner Tags, and what this boy is trying to sell everyone is a load of garbage. Secondly the fact that he admits to the fuzz meeting with him at his home indicates to me something was not passing the smell test. He could have done any number of things, admitted to them he did not shoot it, posted it for a friend, again pointed out that he was not in the picture, pick an excuse. All I know is irregardless of any positive feedback anyone leaves on this guy, the proper authorities should be notified of his supposed dealings in what appears to me to be poaching (if he admits to shooting it and the tag is not in his name), and have this passionate outdoorsman (wannabe) removed from this site.
 
UNREAL!!! This will certainly go down as one of the legendary threads on MM.

I actually kind of feel bad for this dude - we all know people that starve for attention & fame and will do just about anything to get it, but posting lies and garbage on an internet forum is about as bad as it gets I think. Oh well - it has been a pretty entertaining read :)

The whole "a nice general bull-or so I'm told" comment from this tool really rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning as well.
 
All I can say is WOW. When guys started jumping on coboy I thought you were just trying to be jerks. But it looks like I was wrong. I dont know how to feel a out this now. I guess its just sad that someone has to lie so they feel that they can be taken more serious on this site.

I wonder what the guys that hired him think? I wouldnt want a guy like this working for me. You would not be able to trust him.
