Inside main beam. It says to measure at the widest point. Question is if the antlers lets say are "V" shaped "mains flare out" do you take the tip to tip as inside main beam as it is the widest point of the main beams or do you center across the 4ths area.

Actually, if the beams have irregular flair you take the measurement from the widest point up to where the irregular flair starts. You can't give it credit for irregular flair.

The inside spread of main beams is measured at a right angle to the center line of the skull at the widest point between main beams. Says nothing of 'irregular flair'.

If the pedical comes out at a different angle (than normal or different than the other side) this might be considered an irregular flair but, for all intensive purposes if its widest at the end of the main beams, that's where you score it from.

That is Incorrect- If the Beam have an "irregular flair", as posted above, you get your spread credit where that starts at.

How do I know this? I have a bull that would gross 362 if this didn't matter, but officially he is 357 (both gross scores)

LAST EDITED ON Oct-19-12 AT 09:14AM (MST)[p]Hang is correct. Although this applies to relatively few trophies, it is part of the rule. Has nothing to do with pedical angle, etc., but if midway down the main beam, it suddenly makes an atypical "veer" to the outside you do not get the extra spread credit.
Again, this is not normally an issue, and is really an acknowledgement of an atypical characteristic in the horn growth. Otherwise, widest point between main beam can definitely be at the tips, or anywhere along the main beam.
