LAST EDITED ON Oct-24-12 AT 02:20PM (MST)[p]Spoke earlier with a friend in Cody who got the scoop from a well placed source in Cody. Coloradoboy didn't poach the elk in question because Coloradoboy wasn't the shooter of the elk in question.

It was his uncles tag and elk. Coloradoboy wanted everyone on MM to think he shot it and that he is the great white hunter which would probably make him more of a great white liar. Sorry CB, folks need to know the truth since you started this mess and refused to fess up, at least to everyonce except the G&F.

So do us a favor, pack yer chit and take yer sorry azz back to Colorado. We already have a POS scumbag named Cole over in Worland who likes to take credit for shooting big game animals and we don't need another.

And that's the rest of the story...

That is hilarious if it is true (not calling you a liar T-BB).
I was wondering why he posted pics of him with all those other animals but then showed a pic of only the animal on that specific bull from WY.
He even showed a pic of him with that other bull he "guided" a friend to in WY...

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a reason for the sudden departure from Tenderfoot Outfitters right before the fall hunting season. This is just a case of pride before the fall. Preston

Its good to know the truth about the whole thing. To bad he had to try to make him self look like a great hunter which didnt work. I commend all of you for shutting him down. It dosent work trying to beat the system ....someone is always watching. Thanks MM

There was another "youngster" a few years back that tried to do the same thing and got caught in the lies etc. Don't remember his name but he took a tongue lashing from MM'ers.

I'm having a hard time believing this story. I believe it is the story that he wants us to believe but it sounds like a cover up to me. He has had no problem in the past giving credit to friends, family or clients on successful hunts he has guided them on so I don't see why this would be any different? If his uncle shot this bull why not post it like the rest of the animals he shows us on this site and like usual we would say " nice bull Coloradoboy, tell your uncle Coloradouncle or whatever his names is congrats". We already know the kid is a very successful hunter so he has nothing to prove, he has an impressive trophy case but I'm still convinced he was getting a little greedy on this one. I'd like to check the forensics and ballistics on this one, I wouldn't be surprised if now the story is Coloradouncle shot it with Coloradoboys rifle

Like I said, it is always funny what some folks do to claim their 15 minutes of fame.

The first time I read his headline "not bad for a general season bull, or so I'm told" seemed to rub me the wrong way. He should have known it was a helluva bull for a general season and the first 2 hours into his hunt. The "or so I'm told" tells me the kid is a glory hound rather than a sharer on the site.

Oh well, there are still others to play with on the site who play fair..... and post to share.

Zeke

Who was the jackass a few years ago from California who claimed to have killed two state record bucks in back to back years, but turned out he bought the racks off Ebay (or some such place) and staged the whole thing?

+1 Zeke. He rubbed me the wrong way as well in the Mule deer forum. No problem, but I had a feeling his puppy dog ass was going to outrun his bulldog mouth. BuckSpy called him out a couple years ago, we should have listed closer then!
His outfitting career will be short lived down here in CO.

Lying or not that's childish to say you shot it when you didn't! I sure am happy with all you wyo and no wyo mmer's that know your stuff and look out for one another and our state and its laws. Keep up the good work and kudos for getting down to the dirty dirty on it

What a freaking liar! I don't care if he gave away 10 hunts to blind people, he's a big time liar and i'd not EVER do business with him. So he's threatened to leave MM? Good Riddance!!

Joey

If this is the story, I hope CB is smart enough to learn from his errors.

"Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway."

Yeah you learn and you live, I don't seem him getting back on this forum for a while

Man, what a tool. He admits on another post that the wardens were at his house this evening, but he acts like all is well because they didn't haul his fanny to jail. For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would want to poach an animal, or take credit for one they didn't kill. Must be a little-man thing.

This is classic stuff and just keeps getting better. Would be nice to know the truth and why.

dont send him back to COLORADO, We dont need his lieing a$$ down here, send him to another state lemme think of a good un hell i dont know send him to the deep south, Mexico let him show all them guys down there what a great white hunter (liar) he is. specially when he was lieing to people bout the units i hunt. come on man he needs to go, i wonder what he is gettin out of helping all these new friends and "clients", if he is collecting money i would be pissed as a guide and hopefully soon outfitting business owner i would love to see him not aloud in the woods anymore for illegal outfitting if that is what he is doing

Learn from this young man, I think you're better than that. Lying is no way to go through life.

I call BS also. The guy is covering up his tracks now. The guy is an ego driven "know it all". Can't stand that type.

Gotta love his bio....

Cole Ullom
? New Castle, Colorado

He may be the new kid on the mountain, but when it comes to chasing bull elk this guy?s definitely not wet behind the ears. The son of a retired outfitter, he grew up in Colorado hunting and killing big bulls and bucks. An All State Wrestling Champ and bull rider, he's as tough as they come. A major part of the Tenderfoot team from the first trail ride and pack trip in the spring until the last drop camp comes down in the fall Cole has a passion for horses, hunting, fishing and guiding that won't quit. If you draw this guy for a guide, get ready for a hunt you won't forget.

...Yep, probably won't forget it, likely will be illegal or lied to the whole time :)

Many of us have made mistakes in the past and cb is human like the rest of us.

Was it right what he did - no. Was it a completely stupid thing to do? Yes. With that said i for one can forgive and forget a 21 year old kid who carried away on the good old internets.

Hang in there cb I dont kow you at all but let this be a lesson for ya. My advice would be to own up to it, change your future behavior, move on, and grow in your life from your mistake.

Ah,the stuff you miss on MM while out hunting!Tracker12 pretty well nailed it.Ego,greed, and lust for fame have ruined many hunters....

Life is sure a LOT simpler and more enjoyable when you TELL THE TRUTH.

Well said! Wish I knew who the original author was (is)?

To this I would add only. . . . .
(Something for the rest of us to remember as well)
"Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone"!

I suspect there are a few on here that are not surprised to see this happen with this young man.
I hope he takes some time to reflect on this event, learn from it, and is the better for it!

Well said Elkchanser...and I agree.
We all make mistakes and do dumb stuff.
Chalk this one up to stupidity and move on ColoradoBoy.
Live and Learn.

>We all make mistakes and do

>Chalk this one up to stupidity...

We all surely make mistakes and do dumb stuff, but posting pics of a great bull that isn't ours or was shot on someone else's tag is far far far from a mistake or simply dumb.

It's nothing more or less than a blatent lie and should never be portrayed as anything but !!!

I agree C3.

I just think he should NUT up admit the lie, and get back at life.
No sense walking around with his head between his legs for much longer.
Admit it, say sorry, say you were an idiot, and move on.
It was one heck of a LIE, WOW!

+1 to Bowhunt.

We all make mistakes, even me. The thing that seperates the men from the boys is a willingness to admit when you've done wrong. People will open their arms to those who admit wrong-doing and show a willingness to do better.

Zeke

i couldnt agree more bowhunt, i would bet money hes still lurking gettin all butthurt, but hey he messed up and it was a good catch that someone picked up on his faulty information.

+1 Kayak

I'm a little disturbed by the attention this is getting. Did he mess up? Ya he did.
CB, learn from it and move on with your life. Thick skin or not guys, I think this is going overboard. IMO

no violations, game warden found no problem other than the game wardens wasted time with a bunch of complaints from some people from here that JUST ASSUME AN CONCLUSION.

i guess every animal posted here we should just assume a poaching case, now i see why people like Littlefoot left the site. people just slammed him for nothing about shed hunting private land.... well oh my goodness lets make a big stink.

we are all hunters here. were on the same team... i would be worrying about clubs like peta or the freakin obama admin doing some damage to our gun rights........

Nope.....I disagree completely.

This guy screwed up. He MAY have initially made an honest mistake, but then he got pissy when asked a simple question and threw fuel on his own funeral pyre......post, after post, after post!

A simple dose of "cowboy up" and he would have been home free.

Life is tough around here, and these guys ain't stupid.

In the interest of humor alone, all BS aside, whatever trail this thread ......and it's spawn....eventually take, is fair game.

This one wouldn't have been so bad if Coloradoboy hadnt shot off his mouth so much. He bragged about the elk, then defended it for days when he was flushed out. He brought it on himself, in my opinion.

Completely wrong NFH. He admitted to doing something illegal initially then when called on it he started back tracking. He stated flat out that the tag was gifted to him. This is not legal in WY. It was his fault not the MMers who called him on it.

Either way the guy is dishonest, a liar, and quite possibly a criminal (who knows if he or uncle shot it?). It was not a waste of the Game and Fish departments time, as if he actually was telling the truth there was a violation.

Defending him only makes you look like you have the same low standards and as a result would ultimately consider doing the same.

Plain and simple he is a liar or a criminal (maybe both), who can't be trusted. The best thing he can do is man up and clear his name. It does not matter what he has accomplished at this point only what he does given the current situation.

Low standards my A**. first off people just started making up stories and calling the game and fish with some crazy stories. over 20 people called with 20 differnet stories. why not call and say i suspect something????????????? not tell a made up story

secondly the game warden {that i know} said his time was wasted not me.

thirdly i am not just going to start making conclusions about someone when i know nothing about it, i wasnt there. it was not poached so i have no reasoning to jump in and start pointing fingers.

the way i see lots of people lurk this site. they see this and go "oh my if i join and post a picture then people will start riding my rear"

i seen some pictures where posted with no hunter behind the elk in another forum, i guess we should call the game and fish and start accusing and pointing fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ruffled some feathers didn't I? If the game warden that inspected a possible crime thought his time was wasted, I would like his name and request that he finds another career. It is his job to investigate a crime. Which when you read what COLE stated, would be a crime. Yes lots of people here lurk, if they do not join because they are afraid they can't come on here and lie or admit to breaking the law, then so be it. We have no place for liars or criminals.

The only reason we had to assume that a crime was committed was because Cole came right out and said he was gifted a lic. Which is legal in Colorado but not in WY. When called on it he never came clean and thus created the mess.

Ultimately if a person believes a crime has occurred then they should contact authorities. There is no arguing that point. It is the job of the DNR to investigate potential crimes and as a result proceed when pushed.

If the DNR you know is so lazy as to see investigating a potential violation as a waste then maybe he should just work at Walmart as a door greeter. Of course now we have to assume that you actually know a DNR officer, that you actually talked with him, and are actually telling the truth about what he said. All of which we now have to question as you are relentless defending a liar/possible criminal.

Furthermore, I am pretty certain if the DNR officer that investigated the case said anything more than it was a non-issue, then they are probably in violation of the law.

time to go eat some legally taken elk steaks that I killed.

Nothing wrong with invesgating it, im glad no elk was poached in the end. i think it got carried away. why go on and accuse the aunt of poaching her bull and other animals poached in other states? we all have the right to assume what we want. i talked to the game and anf fish about LO tags. the cody office says a non-resident can come and get a LO tag in someones land that says yes with right amount of acres and animals. to me that sounds legal. then on the website people say you must be blood related. so now i am confused. thats why i didnt assume a poaching case...

just understand my understanding of this whole deal.... if he is telling lies then so be it then i guess thats what type of person he is.. Abe lincoln told me the internet was full of facts...

Enjoy your steaks, i mean your legal steaks

This kid is a tool. Spoke to him and one other person on this board about the Bosque del Oso. After some digging and talking to the Dow turns out neither one of them had ever drawn a tag there.

I'm all for bashing Colton for things he actually did wrong, but he didn't lie about hunting Bosque. He had a tag for the second youth only hunt in 2010.

Im not running anymore im going to give you guys what you want. To start, whoever is calling me out on my bosque bull i don't know where yiu did yiur research but i had the youth tag in 2010. As ive been told.. a person can do 1000 things right and 1 wrong and people won't forget it. I feel what's happened has already been explained for me. Ego perhaps did get the better of me. Myself and others are guilty of becoming a different person behind a computer screen and keyboard. I have stretched the truth and been dishonest and i aplogize to those who I've offended in the attempt to not admit fault foolish pride. I greatly appreciate all those concerned with my business the past couple weeks... ive received some great calls to say the least.. i feel ive been a stand up guy. 99 percent of the time over the 5 years ive been part of this site its the1 percent that will forever ruin me amongst the mm. Id Glady sit down with any of you to show you im not the monster the internet has made me out to be the last week or so. I feel I've helped alot of people out over the years and helped them on their hunts even. Once again i apologize guys ego and the want to impress got the better of me this once and i have learned a hard lesson for. I know many will undoubtedly drop this or forget but those who know me and know the true cole ullom and not the person behind an internet alias will understand.

Apologies,

Cole L. Ullom

Well done Cole!
We all have egos but the key is keeping them in check.....and admitting when you've done wrong. Now you've done that.
You have a lot to add to the site.
I'm over it too, let's move on and welcome back.
Zeke

it takes a man to apologize, i think everyones pretty much over it. it was mildly entertaining for a while but we all make mistakes. only 11 more months till next season woo hoo

LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-12 AT 10:33AM (MST)[p]Hope you have a thick skin cause you will be the punch line for years to come :)
Good job on admiting to your lie though.

BTW mtnman, quit talking about my rig in every one of your posts. lol

Zeke

cole you are right, life is about making mistakes and learning, your young and have a lot ahead of you, it feels good to admit when you have done something wrong and apologize, i personally feel there is way worse things to commit in life other than claiming you shot a bull when you didnt, forgivness and mercy is the other side to justice, those who cant frogive and move on are the ones with the real problem. Your a good man and brave for posting your mistake in front of 60+ posts calling you all sorts of names and condeming you for life, keep hunting and enjoy life, its to short to worry about the mistakes you make and what others may think about you. Just dont repeat them!! ha ha thats the secret!!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-12 AT 10:43AM (MST)[p]Nice job Cole!

I think just about anyone that stays around this site long enough will get ball bashed at some point for something! I just hope if and when its my turn I can take it! :D

Colorado,
NICE WORK! Apologizing makes you more of a Man than shooting a big bull.
Congratulations, welcome back, and do not get offended with the jokes that are sure to come.

Mike

Good on you !!!

I can't wait to congratulate you next year on your own real Wyoming bull.

Cheers,
Pete

Incredible the amount of venom against this young man. I'm glad he's able to move on and still enjoy life.

I appreciate it guys. Im not looking for or expecting forgiveness from those reading this. I came on here to clear up the dust. Ive ate my share of humble pie trust me guys. I have not only made a fool of myself but also drug others close to me into it. Although I've enjoyed my time spent on here over the years im stepping away from monstermuleys. I plan to let my ability and actions speak for themselves regarding the sport my life revolves around not my mouth. I have a trophy room and experiences that most twice my age would envy and for that i have no reason to brag or stretch the truth on my accomplishments. I will continue to get better at what i do and become the Hunter and man i want and portray myself to be.

See ya on the mountain,
Cole Ullom

I have been around MM for alot of years now ,One thing Ive learned is the majority of us would like and love to to hear the story behind the strugles ,trials and tribulations of how hard it was to connect on a forkey muley or a spike bull or yer first archery doe rather than THE BIGGEST BULL ON THE MOUNTAIN Dont get me wrong ,I usually cant wait for Saskmans pics or the stuff from Greg Krogh and Randy Ulmer, and the stories of the Biggest Bull on the Mountain , but ,its the unknown ,lil guy stories that are interesting and are usually good reads .Good on ya Coloradoboy for Manning up .Welcome back..

Don't leave Cole, you maned up apologized and that is all anyone on here could ask for, I believe you learned a lesson here and I bet you don't do it again so there's no shame in that we have all made mistakes and are better people because of them you are no different. What ever you decide good luck.

A wise man one said if you start running, You will never stop.
Now me I'm thinking you have alittle more heart then that, can't see you being a quitter or a runner.
You have stood up, Now is the time to man up be the person you are might to be. 1% should be enough to cause you to quit.

I would hunt with the man you should come to be.

Gator im not running. This is a website nothing more. Ive grown out of it and moving on. I've been on this thing for 5 plus years now. I've made my screw up and shelled out plenty of free info and help. Time to go

No one is going to beg you to stay. If you're gonna leave then leave. I think it's great you admitted your mistake and all, but this is getting silly every time you say your gone. Then two days later, oh yep he's back.

leave or stay I don't care, but my respect for you is going down the more you say you're out of here and you stay anyway.

just my $.02

Should he stay or should he go?

Chalk up one vote to leave.

So he apologized for lying and running from the truth, now we should all call him a man and congradulate him?

Who the heck posts a picture of someone else's animal in hopes to get credit for it?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-01-12 AT 11:33AM (MST)[p]I believe he made his bed, and now has to sleep in it! He keeps saying crap like I'm not coming back etc. etc. etc., but keeps coming back. Then to top it off, makes a last ditch effort to come clean expecting to get what? We all know what just like he knows. You are and always were a liar as evidenced by your actions leading up to, and after your little run in with reality. As well I thought someone made a good point earlier in a post by ColoradoLiar that if you have hunted every unit in Colorado by age 21, you would have had to hunt every season of every year, and if you do the math, its just not possible. I ran into residents hunting unit 40 last year that indicated they applied and drew a bull tag with 6 points. Now I know there are a few unknows there, but figure it out guys. Not every resident just up and applies for a tag, or knows a guy that draws a tag in every zone every year. As well, if you are a college student etc., someone just starting out a new job, I highly doubt you would be running that much during a hunting season or have the money to do so. Finally, if you are such an upstanding guy, why are you posting using your phone during buisness hours. Shouldn't you be working, or are you trying to pull one over on your employer also. You are nothing more than a liar, and a keyboard killer! Loser!

BTW, I have a $100 that says wonderkid can't help himself from posting a farewell message, or a "I'm not coming back" message within a week. Whoever is right gets the money. I hope its me cuz I could use the $100.

I'll take it!
I have a skeet league starting Staurday and I could use the money!
Zeke

his ego wont keep him away for long, he cant help but seek a little attention. i personally dont give 2 turtle chits if he stays or leaves, but this will be the story i remember from every post he makes. even if it takes him a while to come back, whether it be under a new handle or not, he will be lurking and wishing he was still gettin the attention. my bets on him being back

I've been on this site for a long time now and have seen some pretty funny things. When I read this thread last week I was LMAO! It reminded me of the good ol days on MM when kids made outlandish claims and many of us were able to get some real good laughs for years to come. I think Coloradoboy is a MM legend along the likes of Cass and OO. Kids do eventually grow up but they never truly leave. Trophy muleys are a drug and Monstermuleys dot com is the pusher. My advice to Cole would be log out, sign up with a new name and start fresh and new. Then we can fave fun guessing who you are in future threads. ;)

He came clean only because he HAD TO!! He was pretty much busted and people caught on to his game that he tried to play us at.

So he fess's up, he had no choice. In my opinion he is a liar who got caught this time. Some say it takes a big man to come clean, I say it takes a bigger man just to tell the truth and not BulllShitt people to begin with.

DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YA IN THE ASS!!! GOOD BYE!!!!

Cass was a kid probably about a dozen years ago that was super keen and always had the amazing ability to see muliple World Records. Somehow, things always got messed up with the pictures so he'd have to go to the ToolBox. He provided endless entertainment for many of us. Eventually he grew up and I actually still see him posting here with his same user name.

Monstermuleys is just an extension of the campfire at deer camp. We come on Bull$hit a little and tell stories of ones that got away and ones that didn't. But there is always that one guy in every camp that always spews nothing but BS all the time. You know the guy, he comes back to camp with his arms stretched out wide telling ya about the absolute monster he just saw. And somehow, he never ever seems to kill one of these monsters. Something always happens and it gets away. While the rest of the camp is struggling to even find a deer let alone a buck, this guy is seeing multiple 180ers every day and all of them are easily over 30 inches wide. So who do ya think the rest of the camp mocks the most? You betcha, it is the guy that is always BSing. Poking fun and laughing is all part of the hunting tradition. MM has just made the hunting camp a lot bigger is all. Guys like Coloradoboy are more famous now than they ever would have been if they actually killed a monster. They will go down in MM history with the other greats that provide the rest of us with endless laughter as we quote them again and again.

+1... He only came clean because he was beat into coming clean. I love how he always states he is soo experienced, and how he has done more than all of us, and how his trophy room is so great, etc... But in reality, after this situation, none of us know what to believe and not believe. I still would bet he actually shot the bull and when it looked like he was going to get caught they covered up the tracks.

Ultimately it was good to come clean, but it is only a small first step in clearing your name. It is much more about demonstrating maturity, building trust, demonstrating honesty etc. By leaving you do not give yourself the opportunity to recover.
Good luck it will take a long time for any of us to forget.

Thanks for the clarification bcboy, sadly i have met a few of those types, i know exactly what your talking about. People that go beyond just being a 1upper. Ya co.boy screwed the pooch and noones to blame but himself. I still think he'll be back

He should have stopped after post 56, but then he had to post number 72 where he again starts to let his ego get the best of him. This kid will never change, he will always be the one to brag about his accomplishments or his abilities. Obvious to me that there isn't one ounce of humility in him. His apology in post 56 now comes across as nothing more than "I'll tell then what they want to hear", and the first time someone calls BS the crap will start all over again.

BCBOY hit the nail on the head. Sadly, I know a guy that has always done things better, bigger, more. Best fish story teller I know. We have laughed in the past and made up stories in his presence about the 44" muley and of course he chimed in about his 45 or 46" muley. We all laugh and laugh and laugh somemore. I am glad that Coloradoboy gave us a big laugh for more than just a few days. Can you imagine the size of the fish that got away or were caught by a family member and he took his picture with them. What a treat to have someone like him to take the heat off of others.

I agree with litlejoe and BCBOY, I think all of us know someone who could embellish a hunting or fishing story.

I had an uncle who passed away many years ago who always had a good story. Some of them I still remember like the time his coon dogs bayed a bear and he couldn't get a clear shot so he tried to run in and stick the muzzle of his shotgun in the bears ribs and the bear smacked the gun out of his hands, and he still had the shotgun with the broken stock if anyone wanted to see it. And when he was trot line fishing for catfish and had one on so big he had to cut the line because it was going to sink his boat.

These stories weren't meant to harm anyone, just to be entertaining.

I think today we all take things too serious and the art of story telling is almost a lost art.

I think this story got off on the wrong foot when he claimed to have done something that was illegal.

I have watched this thread and made a few brief remarks but refrained from letting it get personal even though it is. I drew a Unit 2 Colorado Archery tag this year after 21years. CO Boy and I exchanged several emails, PM's and telephone calls. I was convinced that he was the real deal and when he offered to help out on my hunt I accepted. I had two guys you wanted to come out to CO to assist me in my hunt but I declined since CO Boy said he would come out right after a muzzy hunt that would only take a couple days. To make a long story short he never made it to unit 2 and I ended up being on my own. I spent 15 days by myself when I cold have had a couple friends around to assist. Boosting and embellishing hunting stories is one thing but making promises and not following through is another. On the day I packed it up and was heading home he called and said he could come up to hunt. It was a little late.

So your just going back over to muleymadness to spread more of your BS?Ask yourself, what would Tred do(your Jesus).

I agree tracker12. We all know hunters and fishermen who embellish the truth, but when it comes to hanging a guy out to dry like he did you, that's real bad.

I know a guy who hunts and fishes a lot. The only way you can kill a bigger buck than him or catch a bigger fish than him, is to let him tell his story first.
